What's your go to present for nieces and nephews?

I have 6 nieces and 4 nephews to buy for. I don't want to spend a fortune as we're on a bit of a budget at the moment and even spending £10 each would add up to £100 pounds. Age range from 3 to 16. 5 of the girls are sisters. Would love some inspiration. Thanks.

Books for young ones- you can get good deals at places like The Works and Book People.

For sibling groups- board games.

I've gone for a mixtures of books, woolly hats, insulated water bottles and Sylvanian families for my nieces & nephews.

Books are always good. Smiggle bits (in the sale!) Nail varnish for older girls? Lush bathbombs?

For the younger ones there's some great options in the 2 for £15 toys at Argos, anything superhero or gaming related for boys is usually a good theme. For the older ones would the boots 3 for 2 offers be any good if u want to go for makeup/ pampering kind of route? I got my 17 year old cousin a small bottle of the juicy couture perfume for £10 from boots.

Claire’s might be worth a look with that many girls to take advantage of their buy 3 get 3 free offers. They also cover a wide range of ages and styles.

MistressMind · 18/11/2019 13:56

Claire's is a good shout on their buy 3 get 3 free.

Alternatively do a family game between them and a selection box each to open.

Cash is king.

Look on Rex London, they have a range of quirky and pretty items suited to both younger and older children; For older girls a pretty cosmetic bag with a pack of cute nail files and a compact mirror, that would work out about £5/£6 and there are some lovely designs.

They also have games etc for younger ones or do book gifts from somewhere like The Works, you could buy 10 books for £10 split between two and a nice selection box, large ones currently half price for £1.50 at Tesco's currently.

Personally, I give my teen/early 20s nieces/nephews money or vouchers because it's what they want and the younger ones I buy whatever they are into, for example my 6 year old niece is an LOL fan so I have bought her loads of LOL stuff.

I go bloody mad though on my nieces and nephews, buy what you can afford, a gift is a gift.

There are some lovely very reasonable wooden toys in Aldi at the moment which would suit the youngest ones.

Could you do family presents instead of individual?

Baking stuff maybe? Or stuff to make chocolate fondue or hot chocolate and marshmallows etc? Or popcorn and flavourings?

Mintjulia · 18/11/2019 18:40

Vouchers - Waterstones, Sports direct, Apple, bowling etc.
Age appropriate Chocolates,

Books are a good go to for all age group imo. Nail varnishes, mini make up mirrors are good. Colouring pens, colouring books, pattern books, gel pen sets and themed dot-to-dot can be picked up cheap in places like The Works. A "finger football" game (£5) went down well with DBro a couple of years ago. Reusable travel mug. A bit boring (to some) but everyone in my family is always made up with socks, slippers, scarves or gloves.

But please (as a member of a sibling group of 5) don't get them a joint board game - unlikely to be able to get one they'll all play and it's so impersonal. Something very small, but just for them is a much better option.

Thanks all, see great ideas. I actually had a Matalan discount code and have ordered some alphabet items that were on 3 for 2, hairbrushes make up bags etc so have sorted 5 of them today Smile
Only 5 more to go!
