Recommend some mugs

My husbands favourite tea mug has been smashed so I want to get him a really nice replacement one for Xmas. Can anyone recommend one (it’s difficult to get out to the shops to check them out in person)

Not too bothered about the design but it needs to be a large size. Ideally tall rather than wide and normal mug thickness.

Needs to be dishwasher safe!

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Mugs from Belleek, an Irish pottery firm with a very long and traditional history but is widely available to buy online and in selected retailers like Debenhams.

So many different styles etc to choose from and most come beautifully gift boxed, they are not extortionately priced either.

Cornishware are available to buy online with a personalisation option- I’ve bought a set as wedding gifts which went down v well.

Emma Bridgewater’s can also be personalised and I think they do a big “man” size which would be great if he drinks his hot drinks in pints Grin

I do like Emma Bridgewater. And they do some patterns in a pint mug size and some personalised.

Would second Emma Bridgewater mugs, we have a few different designs but they all seem to go together iyswim. I know DH has got me a Liberty one for Xmas, that one will be all mine😀

Sidenote:
for those prone to dropping and smashing favourite mugs, Le Creuset stoneware is virtually indestructible!

Mine are still going strong after years of mishaps.
Gorgeous colours, too.

Not sure if they do especially large sizes, though.

Ah but what is "normal thickness?" For me for tea it should ideally be bone china. For hot chocolate (I don't drink coffee), it could be a bucket.

National Trust, RHS, Kew Gardens, V&A etc do lovely ones although possibly a bit feminine.

I got given one of the Emma Bridgwater places mugs it's a good size, so if there's somewhere special that could be a good one
Or 2nd the Cornish have lasted well

Emma Bridgewater here too. DH drinks his tea either out of one of the hot chocolate ones, or one of the big ones (pint sized?). There's a design or personalisation for everyone, we've got quite a few now. I know they're a bit twee, but I love them.
