Do I drop this Christmas tradition

Each year dh, myself and Dt boys have had themed pyjamas for Christmas eve. So in the past we've had frozen, tmnt, computer games, star wars marvel etc where we all have indervidual pyjamas but they match. Now the dt are ten and it's impossible to get anything that matches. Boys pyjamas seem to be Minecraft, star wars or plain. We cannot find a theme that you can buy all ages of pyjamas in. Should I just give up on this tradition or accept that we have to have checked pyjamas? I don't want them to be Christmas ones as they get worn all year, and in the case of dh and myself, for years to come.

M&S currently have penguin themed ones for all ages, including adults that I'd say are more 'winter' themed instead of Christmas

fascinated · 16/11/2019 12:35

Next have nice grey ones with trees, stags etc on....

daisydalrymple · 16/11/2019 12:45

Was going to also suggest Next, they have a few different sets of matching family themed pyjamas

Clangus00 · 16/11/2019 12:51

Asda have lots of sets too.

isthewinefinished · 16/11/2019 12:51

I got matching ones in matalan

Ineedaholidayagain · 16/11/2019 12:54

This is it, we go more themed then matching and not Christmas or winter as the boys will only get one year out of them. So for example we were thinking lion king but no boys pyjamas in their size, or lego but no ladies pyjamas that don't have pink.

H&M do matching/themed sets too. This idea is becoming more popular and the stores are accommodating it, so I think you'll find it if you look.

Even if it has to be checks one year, why not?

BertieBotts · 16/11/2019 12:57

Gap also do family "twinning".

Lunafortheloveogod · 16/11/2019 12:58

If it’s women’s pj’s that are the problem for the theme or girls (Disney might have a more unisex selection for lion king etc) check if a smaller men’s size would fit you or them.. depending on the height. 12yo DN is a tower of a child so he wears men’s now for length.

MotheringShites · 16/11/2019 12:59

Primark had loads of Harry Potter in all variations. In answer to your question, I think it’s a cute tradition that you should keep going!

BertieBotts · 16/11/2019 13:19

Other idea: Start looking in the boys' section first, as I agree the teen/preteen boy clothing sections are usually the most limited. Then once you've picked a theme, look for adult PJs in the same theme for you and DH.

So for example:

H&M have the starting point for a New york theme, Harry Potter theme, stars theme, technology theme (wifi/emoji) Marvel, Ghostbusters, NASA, Pac-man.
www2.hm.com/de_de/kinder/produkte/jungen-134-170/nachtwaesche.html

At Next you've got:
Orange, Mountains, Wi-fi again, 2 different coloured camo print (could then get green/brown or green/pink for adults)

Sainsbury's: Marvel, Pokemon

Adsa/George:
Sonic the hedgehog, Harry Potter, Stars, sharks, bears, mario kart, space.

Gap:
Dinosaurs, sharks, emoji

John Lewis (excluding single sets over £20)
Dragons, Sharks, space, dionosaurs, City scene, tigers

Debenhams:
Bears, mammoth, wi-fi, space.

I’m not 100% sure but I think Tesco are doing Harry Potter pyjamas with sizes for all the family. Might be worth a look!

LazyDaisey · 16/11/2019 13:54

polarn classic red stripes come in adult and child sizes. I’d buy and reuse the adult red ones, so you only need to buy the kids’ pj as they grow older. And make that the new tradition... same pjs as you all get older. Then you can put it together 10 years from now and it’ll look lovely to see how everyone grown (old)

BertieBotts · 16/11/2019 14:20

But that is £25 just for the pyjama top Confused

LazyDaisey · 16/11/2019 15:32

Some shirts cost £3, others £30. Same thing here.

hippoherostandinghere · 16/11/2019 15:37

Yes Tesco have family Harry Potter ones if your boys are into it?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/11/2019 17:03

Drop it. It makes no sense at all to me, and I can't see teens thinking it's great to match with parents.

wildhairdontcare · 16/11/2019 17:17

Disney, Harry Potter or Marvel?

WagtailRobin · 16/11/2019 17:32

Asda are doing whole family matching PJs.

stucknoue · 16/11/2019 17:48

How about all having checked brush cotton?

TempestHayes · 16/11/2019 21:16

Google moar. Asda have simple checks and nice waffle textures. You might not get a common 'theme' but every shop is overstuffed with PJs this time of year. Primark has loads. Next has a full matching set (cringe.) Zulily often do them as well, with American brands and very low prices.

You managed to find Frozen PJs in Men's sizes, you can manage to find something Christmassy.

Scotlass · 16/11/2019 21:33

I got matching family gingerbread bread men pjs in Debenhams for me, DH, DD and DS who is 10yrs old. Gingerbread bread men not just for Christmas Smile

ElizaStrawberry · 16/11/2019 22:21

All of you? So you're going to be there in their teens with matching nightwear?

I'd quit now while you're ahead!

Melonheadmum1 · 17/11/2019 00:40

I’m going for the Asda elf family ones ! My kids are in their 20s and have partners so all of them are going to match all 8 of them and me and their dad (thlblush)

SleepingStandingUp · 17/11/2019 00:43

@Ineedaholidayagain
we go more themed then matching and not Christmas or winter as the boys will only get one year out of them.
Why can't the boys wear winter Pj's eg. Penguins throughout the year??
