Aldi Booze Recommendations

Hi All,

I am planning to do a booze run to Aldi to get stuff in for Christmas, and was wondering if anyone has any tips for good products? I'm aiming for some fizz, beers, scotch, soda and coffee liqueur (for espresso martinis). Or anything else fun.

Thanks,

Vodka, not soda!

i can never find coffee liquor there, the caramel and andretto liquors are amazing (we mix with ballycastle)

Iloveacurry · 09/11/2019 08:29

The fake Baileys is nice.

ningaj · 09/11/2019 08:30

ALDI sherry and gin are both good!!

MustardScreams · 09/11/2019 08:31

Their fancy port (about £13 iirc) is amazing. Also the organic Prosecco, their cheapy Pinot noir and most of the Christmas flavoured gins (not the liquor ones) are really good.

MustardScreams · 09/11/2019 08:32

You can also get it all online rather than going to aldi, which is much easier and you don’t have to risk it not being in stock.

On fun, they do a colour changing gin, starts blue and goes pink when mixer is added. I like it.

PigeonofDoom · 09/11/2019 08:37

Cremante de Jura- nicer than Prosecco imo as it’s not too sweet. Think it’s about £7 a bottle in Aldi.

Floralmoral · 09/11/2019 08:37

Definitely gin. I also like the gin liquor they have, I drink it with their organic prosecco, which is really nice. As mentioned by pp, order online if you can. I have two aldis nearby and even between the 2 of them I wouldn’t be able to do a proper booze shop because things are always out of stock.

This is lovely!

For fizz their cava is really nice. The prosecco isn’t bad either but I’d recommend the cava.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/11/2019 08:46

I agree about their blag Bailey's! A bargain at under £4!

GuyFawkesDay · 09/11/2019 08:53

The Seville orange and lime gin is delicious
Fake Bailey's is great
Their prosecco is lovely.
Buy some decent reds from their £6-8 range and they'll easily pass for a £10-15 one from other places. I've had a couple of corkers from there. One was a rioja and another a malbec

sittingonacornflake · 09/11/2019 09:09

Their spiced plum and clementine gin is INCREDIBLE

MustardScreams · 09/11/2019 09:10

Yes to the spiced plum gin. So so good!

Travelfan1 · 09/11/2019 09:13

Another vote for Cremant de Jura. Prefer this to Prosecco. Saw it in Aldi a couple of days ago. It appears to be seasonal. I’m going to get some soon, as availability tends to be patchy.

Crazycrazylady · 09/11/2019 09:17

Their Baltika non alcoholic beer is the nicest in the market, for the designated driver!

HandsOffMyRights · 09/11/2019 09:19

There's a sloe berry gin that's so good. Bought it last few years and hope it's back in this year.

Mix with cloudy lemonade.

DivisionBelles · 09/11/2019 09:32

Another vote for the Seville Orange and Persian Lime gin. Must try the Spiced Plum one now too.

Organic Prosecco is nice and the fake Baileys is a bargain.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2019 11:17

I buy the Amarreto for my cake (soaking fruit/feeding cake/ making marzipan) .
( I don't drink alcohol but I use this to cook)

ArabellaPilkington · 09/11/2019 11:27

Cremant D'Alsace - The Times says exactly the same as champagne £8.29 a bottle

Also Organic sparkling Grillo v nice - not as sweet as Prosecco

Justjoinedforthis · 09/11/2019 11:30

Thanks very much for all the tips, will make a list. This is making me want a drink now! Bit early.
