Drying orange slices (possibly poncetastic)

Anyone successfully done this? I fancy dried orange slices either as sort of garlands or just hung on the tree. Have seen elsewhere people report mixed success with this - any good methods?

You could do them in a dehydrator, or on a tray in the bottom of the oven on v low.

Whenever Ive done dried orange slices, Ive started off in the oven-on very low & on a wire rack, then before they`ve started burning-done that beforeGrinGrin, take them out the oven to finish on the tops of radiatorsSmileSmile

I do mine in the oven on a very low heat.

Yep oven on a very low heat but don't forget they are there! I use our Aga and usually leave them in too long burn them and they'd buy them anyway!!

The secret is to press them between cloths or kitchen paper to get as much moisture out as possible before you start. Then oven on a very low heat for ages. Turn them occasionally so they don’t stick to the racks or get grid lines.
I’ve done them on top of the radiators too.
I stud mine with cloves and the house smells heavenly for a day.

Yes i did some last week after reading on here. They said oven on low for 40 mins. We must have different ideas of low as mine took at least 3 hours 😂 They turned out well though, I'm going to use them to decorate a wreath.

Mine are in now, on the defrost oven setting. It basically wafts air around for a while. They are on a permeable baking sheet- earthenware type thing, which will help.

I've dried flowers and foliage from the garden, and will make potpourri jars as gifts. The smells of the natural items, with cloves and cinnamon bark, and some sandalwood essential oil should be lovely!
