Thinking about getting a keepsake type book for DD9 . She is a very competent reader but still enjoys picture books. Any suggestions or recommendations, doesn't need to be Christmas themed.

Any of Robert Sabuda's books - they are wonderful little works of art, with pop ups and little mini books and all sorts. We have one on dragons, one on dinosaurs and Alice in Wonderland.

What's your budget. OP?

I saw these, is the Alice one too young do you think or suitable? I like the idea of the little books, she used to love the jolly postman, is it a bit like that?

Not sure of budget, might give the idea to my parents as they love giving books, maybe up to £20/25.

'Pop-Up Shakespeare' by Jennie Maizels

Description/reviews here

Shakespeare maybe sounds too adult and serious, but this is definitely not!
Aimed at older primary age, and done in a funny and informative way.

Grandparents would enjoy looking at it with her, too.

Second Robert Sabuda- they are lovely. We have Peter Pan and ‘‘twas the night before Christmas. Both are beautiful

Not pop-up books, but the 'Welcome to the Museum' series is absolutely beautiful, and will be accessible to her now, but also internesting for a good few years yet.

Oh, and ours love the 'Ology' books - fun and interactive for kids, but still 'keepsakey':

Peep inside a fairytale books are beautiful. I love them more than my daughter but I think would be too young as the stories are quite basic.

Depends what type of style of book you want, The Little Prince pop up book is beautiful and it's a classic so makes a good keepsake for when children grow up.

I will say it's a very grown up book though, so she may struggle with it and you may not be keen on the theme of story. But I have one for my son, which I read with him and hope he will treasure when he is older.
