I like Christmas and do like buying people gifts but this year I'm just feeling a bit frazzled and clueless. Time seems to be racing by each week and I am so time poor atm and also on a low income. Hoping you can help me with ideas for my Xmas shopping...

  1. Xmas gift for a sibling's male partner who I hardly know. £20 budget limit. He is early twenties and an IT student.
  2. Xmas gift for another male relative who I hardly know, also male twenties, also £20 budget! He works in a warehouse.
  3. Xmas gift for teenage male relative who I do know fairly well but still no idea what to get them. Again £20 limit. He is a college student studying English, Politics and a MFL.
  4. Stocking fillers for DH - no strict budget but we are a low income family so no crazy suggestions like a smart watch or something Grin. He is mid-twenties and works in healthcare.
  5. Stocking fillers for DD who will be about 18m.

Hit me, geniuses! Feel free to ask more questions about the targets if necessary. Grin

To be honest with you I’d cut out the buying for people you hardly know.

Males in twenties I usually go for alcohol they like (maybe get suggestions from their partners). Wallet ninja also seems to go down quite well. Or a voucher for an activity? Climbing wall? Cinema? Or restaurant? Nandos usually goes down well with that age group.
Dd - bubbles, small animals or figures? Lanke kada are good. Or duplo? Satsuma choc coins, book

Ah, they're secret Santas! Lots of the family are on low incomes so we don't do big present buying. Both the people I dont know well are in either side of the family secret Santas. I've just got sort of unlucky with drawing them, hope that doesn't sound mean haha. They're both lovely! Just don't know them well enough. Thanks for the suggestions Smarshian Smile

Got dh this card wallet last year and he likes it.
ds (19) liked the lockpicker set I got him

I've come on here for ideas, so @haggisaggis thank you for the stealth wallet idea for my ds - looks very good!

Qwertee have lots of cool t-shirts if you know their size?

WagtailRobin · 06/11/2019 17:06

A student and a young lad working in what I assume is a minimum wage job in a warehouse, I would say £20 in a card or a £20 voucher would be well received from both.

You say yourself you barely know them, so they won't be expecting the perfect gifts and I genuinely think most students/young lads would be glad of the extra £20 in their pockets, instead of a t-shirt they don't like or a Lynx set etc.

amazon vouchers

TranquilityofSolitude · 06/11/2019 20:36

I usually buy a Costa voucher for my friend's son, who is a humanities student. There's one on campus so it works well for him.

grid it organiser for the men?

Tell us a little more about your dh’s interests.

MeadowHay · 07/11/2019 15:28

Thanks, will look into all these things!

I'd go with a bottle of gin/whiskey/champagne or a voucher. The equivalent in my family would be if SIL's DP got me in secret santa and I'd rather a £20 amazon voucher or nice bottle of gin than them trying (and failing) to guess what I'm into.

MeadowHay · 07/11/2019 16:52

I should def have said before but alcohol probably wouldn't be a great idea for various reasons. In fact I'm not even sure if one of them drinks at all. But vouchers probs a good idea for the two I don't know well. Like the idea of restaurant vouchers in particular.

Groupon have meal deal vouchers for places like Chiquitos and Frankie and Benny's which are really good value, you could probably get a meal for 2 for just over £20?
