off the top of my head:

crackers

alcohol
the food for xmas day

I'm rushing off to drop ds at his friend's so not a very detailed list Grin

Cards
Stamps
Decorations
Booze
Soft drinks
Board games
Obvs the food

These are all the things I keep reminding myself to buy and then immediately forgetting Grin

I'm back! just saw that b&m are doing a 12 pack of crackers for £2.99, link. i don't know how good the present inside will be, but they are called a 'luxury' gift so i think things like mini bottle openers and the like?

elQuintoConyo · 03/11/2019 15:46

Rennies
Ibuprofen
Tin foil roasting trays
Batteries - different sizes for toys, tealights etc.
Walnuts, walnut crusher (walnuts are a Christmas staple in our house).

Secret stash of booze WinkWinkGrin

Go online and check when your rubbish deliveries will be made over the Christmas period. As you're unwrapping presents, finishing wine, scoffing after eights, put the rubbish in separate bags for recycling and make sure it goes out.

Batteries!!! I knew I’d forgotten something. Thanks @elQuintoConyo

This thread is going to be super helpful in the next few weeks I predict.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 03/11/2019 17:08

oh and if you do elf on the shelf, start to think of ideas. i'm going to follow this list because i have run out of ideas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/11/2019 17:19

eBay for batteries. I get the Duracell professional ones (or whatever they're called!) in bulk from there for a fraction of the cost in the shops.

jiggleit · 03/11/2019 17:52

Battery's! Another important thing I'd forgotten of the list Shock I need to check what battery's all the toys need and stock up on them

Don't forget a lot of toys nowadays use those flat round CV batteries, or whatever they're called. "Dangerous little buggers" I call them, as toddlers are known to ingest them Shock

Will you need things such as:
Cocktail sticks (for the pineapple and cheese hedgehog)
Paper napkins (or do you use fabric)
Bottle opener
Matches/lighter
Extra: kitchen roll, tin foil, baking paper, cling film.

If you have DC and are going to do Christmas baking, stock up now on flour, sugar, sprinkles etc.

Get out all your Tupperware (in my case old ice cream pots Grin ) and check they all have a corresponding lid, for all the Xmas leftovers.

We have a refillable advent calendar so I need to think about getting chocolate and other delights in the next couple of weeks.

Spices, and vanilla essence for baking. Fresh baking powder if you use it (mine seems to get weaker as it gets older)

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 03/11/2019 23:52

Mine is pretty much the same every year and been added to after running out...
Gravy
Batteries - about a zillion different types
Toilet roll
Heartburn tablets/liquid
Washing up liquid
Calpol (or shops own brand)
Pet food
Box of matches/lighter
Enough milk

Some of them are really obvious (toilet roll/pet food/gravy) but I find by concentrating on the ‘big’ stuff it’s stuff like the above that gets missed. Admittedly we don’t like to go to the shops after Christmas, seems like you pop in for one thing and come out with a load of useless crap. So we want to make sure we have enough of the ‘normal’ stuff.
