Diabetic treats?

Are there any nice diabetic friendly treats I can buy/ bake/ make? I had a look at sugar free sweets but they have laxative effects which don’t seem very festive Hmm

Nuts are usually a safe bet for my diabetic nan Grin I usually include some that have a tiny section of Brazil nuts in dark chocolate though as those really are her favourite and she can just have one-

Type 1 or 2?

Type 2 try low carb/keto recipe
Type 1 label whatever with how many grams or carbohydrates

Grams of carbs

(damn my chunky fingers)

Hotel Chocolat does a lovely lower sugar range. Highly recommend!

Low in sugar doesn't automatically mean diabetes friendly. The sugar substitutes are similar carbohydrate wise. Insulin is needed to cover all carbs, not just the carbs of which are sugars.

Yes, please don’t buy anything diabetic friendly, it makes me and many diabetics I know feel horrible, plus still raises blood sugar.

As suggested above 85% and higher really good quality chocolate is my go to. Also nuts. If you are looking for a post dinner treat, then a cheese board is fab.

Thank you all! I’ll steer clear of the diabetic chocolates definitely. All of the people I had in mind have type 2.
