Snap circuits? Really easy to use circuit-builder which both my kids (5 & 7) spend hours with.

My son is still obsessed with Thomas so lots of trackmaster here.
Also a kiddizoom camera, lots of book sets, hardback illustrated harry potter.

Tesco's have a lot of toys on for half price, maybe just have a walk in there and look around for inspiration, something might grab your attention for him. My nearly 5 year old nephew is into Toy Story so he is getting the Woody Toy Story remote control car from me, a Toy Story backpack, Toy Story bath set, Toy Story stationery, Toy Story clothing and a few other bits. His parents (Santa) are getting him a Nintendo Switch because he loves Mario and walkie-talkies.

An alternative to snapcircuits are Hotwires. We bought a set for our just turning six year old last year and they are probably the most played with gift from last year. We bought this set:
www.argos.co.uk/product/9368334?storeID=466&gclsrc=aw.ds&&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59156|acid:444-797-0832|cid:598623310|agid:28645204525|tid:aud-484139256141:pla-264954236326|crid:96091141165|nw:g|rnd:14156779949270312203|dvc:m|adp:1o1|mt:|loc:1006779&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5ueCssLI5QIVCbLtCh0jkwFHEAQYASABEgIY-fD_BwE

Equimum · 01/11/2019 07:47

Sorry, not sure how the link ended up so huge!

Equimum · 01/11/2019 07:49

I’ve just also thought of Bugs in the Kitchen game. Both my 4&6 years absolutely love it, and so do the adults who visit!
