Happy Land

I have two great nephews, aged just one and two and a half. Not siblings, but see a lot of each other at granny's house. Was thinking of buying them each something from the Happy Land range and, as it is likely the toys will be kept at granny's, they will both be able to play with both sets.
Is this a good idea?! Is it age appropriate? Which set have your children got the most enjoyment from? The older child is very into planes/flying, if that helps.
TIA.

Mine really liked the happy land stuff when they were that age as did/do nieces and nephews. The pirate ship was a big hit here, also the bluebell fairy cottage

ELC have a lot of the sets on 3 for 2 at the moment so you could have a birthday present in reserve Smile.

I have two huge boxes of it that two of my kids have adored. The youngest is 7 now and I won't get rid of it. I'm keeping it for the grandkids! I mean, it could be decades but that stuff is timeless.

Sounds positive! And 3 for 2 even better!!

Bought my DD the Christmas things and nativity for her first advent calendar and the zoo set as her main first birthday present. We have added lots to it, some new (bought when on sale) and some second hand, over the last few years. She is nearly 5 now and still plays with it lots. She particularly likes the plane, ship, rocket and castle. It cleans and keeps well, we will sell or pass it on to others when she eventually grows out of it.

Happy land tends to hold its value quite well too so you can always sell it on afterwards (if you can bear to part with it)

Mine loved the bus!

OctoberLovers · 26/10/2019 00:22

Look on ebay and Facebook market place groups.... So much cheaper

Cuppaand2biscuits · 26/10/2019 00:43

Both of mine loved Happyland at that age. I think go for a house as they love to put people to bed at that age!

Is 3 getting too old for happyland?

DCIRozHuntley · 26/10/2019 07:17

I'd say 3 is about the right age, my nearly 4 year old still loves ours and my 5 year old will sometimes play too. They also use the houses / furniture with their Sylvanian Families and LOL dolls which has extended the lifespan further.

My 2 DC loved Happyland. DS tried to “shoplift” the digger when he was 2! We had several Happyland sets. The DC are 8 and 11 now, and they still play with the space rocket!

My DD got quite a bit of Happyland stuff for her first birthday, loved it and was still playing with it regularly up until about 4yo. Definitely worth the money. She particularly loved the House, the Zoo and the pirate ship.

Mine loved it although I’d try to get it on deal as it’s not cheap. The farm and beanstalk are really good and anything which makes noises.

I've been building a collection of second hand happyland for my now 2 year old for a while, and she enjoys playing with it and is just starting to pretend play with it independently, so see it lasting her a good while yet. Her favourite is the London bus, she spends ages taking all the people in an out. The train is good, it goes round track by itself when you put a character in it. She's getting the space rocket for Xmas, which I'm very excited about lol. I also like the zoo. There is always lots at mum2mum markets and other children's markets round us, ive picked loads up at very good value, I got the rocket for £5 (rrp £40) and it looks virtually brand new.

I think I am going to get the London bus, and the ice cream van, as they are similar size/price so no adverse comparisons can be made!

Just to update, I bought the Happyland ice cream van and London bus online from The Entertainer yesterday, together with a helicopter to get the benefit of the ELC 3 for 2. Delivered this afternoon (delivery free if you spent over £40). Couldn't have asked for a better service!
