Can anybody recommend any? Or prizes to fit in them?
I remember my mum doing them once and I loved it.
Teen girl and 7 year old boy.

I have just bought some fill your own crackers from John Lewis. They are for 5 adults and 1 teenager. They already come with a hat and joke. For the adults I was going to put in a scratchcard and chocolate and in my daughters one either a hair scrunchie or lip balm/lipstick and chocolate. Something like that. ☺️🎄

I always get mind from Mark's and spencer. Fill them with scratchcards, stationery items, key rings, small beauty items , lipbalm, screwdriver for husband, Christmas glasses that make tree lights look like snowmen

Do the kits make a noise like normal crackers?

Our dog is terrified of the noise they make so was looking for quiet ones but ones I could make to reduce tat

I8toys · 22/10/2019 10:36

Yes they have a bang but you can take it out if you want to as you are putting them together

Save your toilet roll tubes, get some felt and glue guns for hats (they can be used again next year), you can buy the crack strips from hobby craft and use wrapping paper to cover.

"Christmas glasses that make tree lights look like snowmen"

OMG, I've just googled this and am ordering from amazon as we speak. Those are brilliant! Thank you!

Selford · 22/10/2019 13:48

@RubaiyatOfAnyone Would you mind posting the link - not sure why, but I can't find anything similar on Amazon, and they sound so cool

I8toys · 22/10/2019 13:48

Rubai - I know they are good aren't they - a roaring fire looks amazing!!

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 22/10/2019 13:56

These are the snowmen ones:

There's also santas, reindeers, snowflakes. My inner 8-year-old rainbow obsessive wants to go on a spending spree...

I've done this two years in a row. I'm already planning this year's. I bought a pack of 100 paper crowns and the poppers from amazon, so I'll likely be doing them for a few more years.

AuntieMarys · 23/10/2019 00:37

I buy the JL ones...I used to put the dcs Xmas money ( main present when teens) in there with some chocolate coins.

DelurkingAJ · 23/10/2019 18:46

I buy the cheapest ones I can, untie them and swap in personal gifts. Blind bags for DSs, mini toiletries for DH and me usually.
