Inspiration list

Hi

I watch all the bargain threads like a hawk but sometimes I would just like inspiration for things that are great gifts - not necessarily reduced.

Can we collectively make a list. Eg

Grandparents
One year I bought them personalised stamps (as in actual stamps) from post office - with photos of grandchildren.

DP
My dp likes a "bold shirt" and someone in here recommended 1likenoother. Amazing site for limited edition shirts.

Every year I buy him collar stiffeners with something engraved on them. He uses them all the time. The engraving now varies from the kids first words to places we have been etc.

Board games
For anyone who doesn't have dobble. Do get it. It transcends age.

And penguin pile up. Great for kids. And a brilliant "drinking game for adults" should you need festive entertainment

As above for kids and adults Think Words. Great game for kids and adults too.

Indoor fireworks. Get them every year.

All ages. Fingerlings. Cheap. Lights out. Great fun.

Would really love some interesting suggestions behind the plastic lol doll variety x

I really like the idea of sharing inspirations.

Last year I got dd a Ukulele and had worked out simple chords to favourite songs (and snickered the fingering to the ukulele) so that she could start playing straight away. She loved it and played so much she got a blister from strumming.

A hedgehog house for the garden went down well with some older relatives too

Oh a hedgehog house sounds like a great idea. Do you need a big garden to make it worthwhile?

Someone in another thread mentioned a weather station. I'm looking for some interesting ideas.

I like the idea of a hedgehog house.

A ukulele went down a storm in this house a few years ago.

Yes to Dobble.

Ticket to Ride - excellent board games. The London one is one of the easiest to learn how to play, and quicker than a lot of the others.

Some kazoos provided hours of merriment a couple of years ago - one each for everybody in the house on Christmas day.

A wobble board has provided hours of fun (and exercise!) And is still used regularly a couple of year later.

Wooden spinning top was very popular too
