Ideas for DH?

What’s everyone getting their DH? Other than stocking fillers type stuff, i’m stumped. He prefers to buy quality, higher end stuff that lasts (unlike me!) He likes travel, camping, outdoors.

Some high quality walking boots?

We both purchase a voucher for us to enjoy together rather than his & hers pressies.

We did view from the Shard and dinner at the Shard & dinner on the thames as two separate events.

My husband treated himself to an Unni pizza oven (£160). He lived it and it makes amazing pizzas without taking up much storage space

Let him buy his own high-end stuff. We do £10 in the pound shop, works for us.

Pumpkintopf · 28/09/2019 23:35

@jenthehen my dh also has one - he also loves it, with a passion. In fairness, he does make lovely pizzas with it!

Try browsing Pinterest with searches like “camping gifts”, “travel gifts for men”. I find it a good source of ideas.

Chilledout11 · 29/09/2019 07:58

We are going to give smaller gifts and are putting money towards a holiday next year . But I previously bought a chair for his boat (fishing) hunter wellies another year. Some kind of experience.

LadyGAgain · 29/09/2019 08:23

@jenthehen @Pumpkintopf - about the pizza oven. Do they use it outside and can you keep it outside in all weathers?

PickingUpLicks · 29/09/2019 08:28

One of those mega-lightweight camping chairs. I don’t know the brand but they fold down to the size of a shoe.

yetanothernane · 29/09/2019 08:43

I'm getting dp a leather holdall and passport cover. You can get one as fancy as you like. Dp will be able to use it when we go away as well as for the gym etc.

Alternatively does he use a bag for work? You could get him a nice laptop bag or whatever he uses?, Wallet etc? Again stuff you can pick up at various different price points so works well if he like high end stuff.

jenthehen · 29/09/2019 09:50

I’ve read on the forums about the pizza oven that they can be left outside (you can buy a cover for about £30) but people do suggest storing the (usually blackened from the heat) pizza stone inside as it absorbs moisture. The tall chimney part is removable (well it is in the model we have). The main body is about the size of s hand luggage bag.

A few nice bottles of whiskey, a decanter and crystal tumblers...

Voucher for a steak meal out

CoffeeChocolateWine · 29/09/2019 11:52

Sounds similar to my DH. I’m looking into buying him a fire pit for the garden. And the staple bottle of whiskey!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 29/09/2019 12:04

Dutch oven? My outdoors/camping friend loves his. Show tickets for favourite comedians have always gone down well here.

Pumpkintopf · 29/09/2019 12:09

@LadyGAgain we store ours inside because he loves it so much - we did buy the cover but it's quite flimsy nylon so I think it would need to be under shelter. This is the koda however which is small and transportable.

DH says it's the best gadget he's ever bought and apparently the UK Facebook page is great for advice on models and is monitored by the ooni support people- it's called ooni enthusiasts uk.

wibbletooth · 29/09/2019 12:24

A unicycle - I got one for dh for about £60-70 from a specialist unicycling store online on Black Friday. Also got a stand and how to unicycle book...

Went down well as a present - was a big surprise, big present to have under the tree and open, but not too expensive for a big bit of kit.

If they’re into cycling it’s a different challenge but not too different. Means you don’t have to worry about trying to get the right bit of kit if they are really into cycling.

Thank you both for answering
