I had the smoked salmon, and also prawns (those are shellfish but mobile ones - its the ones like mussels stuck in a single location that my GP was concerned about - she reckoned that lobster, crab and prawns were all ok).
Hard cheese, as long as it was pasteurized, was also ok. So I just had to get tasty hard cheeses rather than runny brie or stinky stilton. (I didn't "do" baked soft cheeses then, but would know better now).
Salads from a factory and kept stored properly (chilled) were ok but not from a deli counter - so a pot of M&S coleslaw in its sealed tub to eat at home was ok, to make a nice ham and coleslaw sandwich. But I would not get a ham and coleslaw sandwich from a deli counter in a shop. Similar for mayonnaise etc - pasteurised ok (eg. jar of Hellmanns) but unpasteurised not ok (like homemade salad cream using a raw egg yolk).
No eggs benedict for Christmas morning breakfast because of no runny egg yolks. But a croissant with bacon and grated cheese grilled to bubbling was perfectly fine. As was the OJ, coffee (well, the 1st cup anyway), tea, fresh fruit (just properly washed)….etc.
I had the full Christmas dinner - roast turkey, potatoes, veg, pudding for dessert etc. In fact, as DD had finally dropped, I actually had room for seconds!! (I later realised that this was a BIG mistake as I threw it all up in active labour during the night on 25th!).
