The small luxuries you don't buy yourself

I'm gong to suggest to my husband that this year we do small stockings for each other with a few bits in that fit the above category; the small luxuries that we don't buy ourselves ordinarily but would quite like.

One example I can think of is nice shower gel that we actually like and hasn't been closed just because it's on offer like we normally do.....

Does anyone have any other ideas....?

Badedas bath bubbles
Smells lovely and you only need a few drops and bubbles up lovely
Get it when it's £9.99 tho and not £15

Posh condiments. DH is a tartare sauce fiend and gets swanky stuff in his stocking.

Badcat666 · 30/08/2019 21:18

I always get MrBC a selection of hot sauces, all wrapped up from "the cats".

Also naice shaving cream instead of the cheap and cheerful stuff he normally uses.

One year I didn't do him a stocking, I have never seen a grown man sulk so much.

I would say L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil but I bought a huge bottle from QVC (nearly a litre )

Niederegger Marzipan would be on my list

BelindasGleeTeam · 30/08/2019 21:27

The lush dreamtime bath oil blocks. It's expensive for what it is but it's so good and helps me sleep. A huge bag of these would make me so happy.

L'Occitane almond shower oil definitely. Amazing. And their rose lip balm.

A mini Hourglass ambient light block.

OPI nail varnishes in the special edition colours.

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 30/08/2019 21:29

Definitely shower oil.

FinnBalorsAbs · 30/08/2019 21:32

Lovely warm fleecy socks. Hotel Chocolat chocolate coated ginger pieces. A minty sugar scrub for my lips which is ridiculously expensive but feels amazing.

This is easy Grin

Dog accessories!
Kong, teddies, canvas dummies in festive colours, pretty bowls that match your decor, reflective coats, leather leads, charming bandanas, rawhide candy canes and grain free turkey & cranberry treats...
(Absolutely for me, as all the best things in their lives are free - I expect snowy walks, snuggles in front of the fire, stinking roadkill and rabbit droppings etc would fill their Christmas lists.)

For humans, I would vote for overpriced chocolate (Waitrose sea salt and crispy feuilletine, personally)
A Krispy Kreme (they sell tins for a single doughnut)
Small bottle booze - M&S festive liquors, champagne, favourite wine...
Book
Magazine
Make up
Perfume
Really nice soap or cleanser
Another vote for posh hand cream
Nail polish
Flower bulbs for the garden
Art/craft supplies
Cake sprinkles, cases, biscuit cutters
Bag charm
Fancy phone case
Proper apple charger/earbuds
New wallet, with Costa card or similar
New scarf and hat - saw a cashmere beanie in John Lewis last year (and settled for another Tesco £5 version as buying for myself, but I LOVE my cashmere scarf)
Sealskin waterproof gloves, expensive but make such a difference on a wet day
Fancy underwear
Nice socks or tights
A nice top or t shirt, leggings etc could be rolled up to fit into a stocking
Stationary - for me a £15 Parker pen is a luxury, as my default is Asda multi pack biros
Jewellery
Christmas bauble

Millie2013 · 31/08/2019 16:21

Posh bubble bath and shower gel, Seychelles from the white co maybe
Emma bridgwater mug
Marzipan
Hotel chocolat desserts selection
Lovely hollandaise sauce
Nice scrapbooking stickers from hobbycraft that I’m too mean to buy myself
There’s a lovely book called Paper Christmas that I have my eye on
Snuggly socks

I so rarely spend money on myself, so these would be real treats ❤️

Millie2013 · 31/08/2019 16:23

MrsElf, I inherited my Dad’s sealskinz gloves
They’re the best thing for horse duties in the cold

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 31/08/2019 17:19

Beer or wine that's a bit pricier than you'd normally buy, posh chocolates, good quality socks, l'occitanne handcream, a really good pen for work, Costa coffee/Starbucks voucher, Borders biscuits, Green & Blacks Hot Chocolate, a good quality travel mug/water bottle (DH bought me a Chilly's one and I love it), a nice face mask or deep conditioning hair treatment.

Fstar · 31/08/2019 21:09

Molton brown or loccitane travel size gels, hand cream etc. Temple spa minis are brilliant, especially the eye cream and masks. Magnitone xoxo, they on offer now and again for about 24 quid, highly recommend this. Hotel chocolat, body shop mini strawberry shampoo and conditioner (get from outlet), sheet masks, new nail arnish or little bits of make up.

For him, same minis, shaving oil or brush and shaving soap, new razors, face masks, magnitone

Fstar · 31/08/2019 21:11

Oh rituals minis too, bloody amazing

sueelleker · 03/09/2019 11:19

Definitely Niederegger marzipan; and my SIL always gets me a box of glace fruits (when she can find them)

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 03/09/2019 11:33

molton brown shower gel
monty bojangles truffles
nice a5 hardback notebook
coffeshop gift card
Small Batch coffee beans
bone china mug

this is a more dangerous area, but I like good quality kitchenware - eg really lovely teatowels, or a decent breadknife. Something I couldn't justify buying from the household budget when there are much cheaper alternatives, but that are really lovely to use. Although plenty of people would definitely throw a teatowel back in your face, no matter how ££££.

Atlasta · 03/09/2019 11:39

I'd choose
Sanctuary bath soak
A good designer eyeliner ( Diorific)
A really nice key fob
Something fun but quite expensive for what it is from Disney Shop ( novelty mug)
Some really nice shampoo& conditioner ( I usually buy ones on offer in supermarket)
Notebook from paperchase

MsSquiz · 03/09/2019 12:08

The stockings between DH and I usually contain:
Fancy shower gel/toiletries (Molton brown or Elemis)
Posh chocs (for me - last year was charbonnel et Walker)
Grown up sweets (for DH - last year was Smith & Sinclair gin sweets)
Miniature bottle of fizz or bottle of DH's favourite gin
A travel size scented candle or handbag size bottle of perfume
A voucher for a spa treatment or meal for 2
Posh condiments for DH (Fortnum & Mason or similar)
Nice socks (DH loves Happy Socks!)
