Young adult DS got lucazade and a packet of nurafen in the toe of his stocking for a few years, which saved me a trip to the corner shop on Boxing Day. Now he hosts, and gets a bottle of Fairy wrapped in a tea towel instead [thinks bitterly of all my newest tea towels he used to mop the floor or dry the dog, or polish his cars while he lived here, totally ignoring the rag bag or dog towels, or mop]

Wow MrsElf, that is a very comprehensive list, thank you! Grin

A couple of very successful fillers (but depend upon interests and income) have been:
A whisky tasting kit from M&S (surprisingly cheap and made us all realise - against all intuition - that whisky tastes and smells better with a drop of water);
A 3 month subscription to The Spicery (longer subscriptions are available, but I couldn't afford them. Curry-loving OH has continued with TS for four years and bought loads of the extras as well as he loved it so much).

Sticking around for more suggestions.

Little whiskey/rum tasters from Master of Malt online. You can even get Christmas crackers with one inside.

If they have a PS4 you can buy little decal stickers that go over the light bar on the front. They’re £1-3 for a pack on eBay (Amazon do them too) and are a fun little gift. I bought batman ones which were great and still used 4 years later.

Alcoholic chocolates.

So far I've thought oh coffee syrups and a chilli sauce selection... I'm also going to give the adults in my family a scratch card or lottery ticket

Barbarara · 23/08/2019 18:28

I love the bottle of fairy wrapped in a tea towel!

jo10000 · 25/08/2019 08:51

On Amazon you can buy personalised cups, including delivery, for just over a fiver. I've just got one for DH birthday and personalised it, 'Keep calm? I can't keep calm, I'm a Spurs supporter!' Many variations. Did one for accountant nephew one year 'Keep calm name, some things just don't add up' etc etc They go down well.

Yutes · 25/08/2019 09:39

I find jams and chutneys a winner in our house

Whitecandle · 25/08/2019 19:07

VIP bottles website do most alcohols you can think of, all price ranges. From cheap to thousands.

Do great taster sizes too.

Great for stockings

DS will be 20

He doesn't drink alcohol as a rule (only if he's out with mates and even then it's a pint or two)

Guitar bits - maybe a snazzy guitar strap and plectrums
Some nice shower gels
Chocolate ( Lindt Teddy Bears )
Magazine ( gaming related)
Socks
Underwear (he gets some Christmas boxers in his Christmas Eve Hamper which they have on Dec 1st)
Phone cables (little swine always loses or breaks them)
Lottery Card (he won £4 on his scratchcard last year!)
Couple of male grooming items

I bought him a beard brush last year and some branded tweezers and nail clippers (he requested these) and some £ toothpaste

sueelleker · 03/09/2019 11:31

Puzzle books, adult colouring books and pens/pencils.

Charliemustard · 03/09/2019 14:29

Socks always works it seems boring but they don’t buy them for themselves Wink
