Wasn't sure whether this should be here or in chat because I guess it's kind of post Christmas advice.

I already know I'm going to be sad once the decorations come down and was wondering if anyone has anything, kind of like an alternative tree, definitely with lights that could stay up all year?

The room is big, with high ceilings, the 7ft, fat tree is replaced by a floor cushion next to an arm chair in a bay window. I want something pretty instead!

Would even consider a massive plant if I can put fairy lights on it. Can I put fairy lights on a plant? Ideas/pictures welcome.

Oh yes to twinkly lights on a large indoor plant! Please post pics when you do this as would love to do the same!

Would something like this work for you?

I have one that changes decorations with each season. Up to now the decorations have been kiddie crafts but as the dc get older I’ll start replacing with more stylish ones.

We have tissue flowers for spring, hearts for valentines, eggs for Easter, waxed leaves for autumn.

I only put lights on for Christmas but no reason not to have them year round. I just have a light battery operated set wrapped on.

I have to have a bit of Christmas all year round!
I leave battery lights round the mirror above the fire place, have lots of twiggy lights and small battery candles as well. Christmas scented candles are the only ones I use.
Christmas mugs are in use all year as well.
I can't help it . It is all that gets me through the year !
Anybody else ?

I leave the fairy lights wound round the bannister all year round, the house feels sad without them and I think they look pretty 😊

I admit I do leave a set of lights and some little copper stars hanging in an archway all year.
I'm going to get some outdoor lights for a tree in the garden too.
I like the twig tree, it looks adorable with the Easter eggs on.
A massive plant might be the winner though. I can't see any pics online of anything similar.

We have this tree. We don't leave it up all year but do tend to leave it up all winter.

Every year I try to pluck up courage to actually leave the Christmas tree up as I so hate taking the tree down and find January v flat and dull. I hang on till the v last !
But adly I am not brave enough in the face of everyone tell8ng me i am mad !

I have a small version of the berry tree Oyster has. It is currently living on my dresser with my Christmas village. But for most of the rest of the year I keep it on my mantlepiece. I think it's at it's most beautiful when switched on with the colours slowly changing but that it's also really lovely when switched off and the bulbs are white like snow beads.

I move it to the kitchen table as an Easter centrepiece for Easter and at Halloween put it on a cupboard and hang spooky lights on it. Its the tree that keeps on giving. So much so that when DS was really little and the world's worst sleeper, I used to place it in his eyeline and he'd stare at the slowly colour changing bulbs mesmerised enough to fall asleep.

This might be on its way
