My DP put pregnancy tests in my stocking.(to tell me he’d like us to try for a baby) I’m sooooooooo happy. Over the moon. Best present ever. 😊😊😊

And DC said β€œFC is the best, he always knows the perfect thing to get even without being asked”

I know lots of people are having it tough today. Me included as very much missing some recently deceased family.

But there’s also so much joy to be had and found.

Please share your happiness... best presents, best moments... success stories!!

Merry Christmas one and all πŸŽ„

DH doesn't really fuss about xmas and said he can't be bothered. Because of this I said we would just do a Β£20 limit which I pretty much stuck to. I also sent some ideas of what to get me.
DH has actually gone beyond what I asked for and got me a fair bit more than I got him.
I was surprised and quite pleased! A touch of guilt there too that I only got him a few bits.

My DS is nearly 3 and first year he’s got it. He woke up this morning and said β€˜oh Father Christmas is so kind’ when he saw his stocking with three gifts in it - he was beside himself when he saw his haul downstairs.
Then he was playing with his playmobil police station and told the police lady it was the best day ever. His joy is what it’s all about

We are having a really laid back day just the three of us having had ILs here over the weekend and it is lovely. DS has been so excited by his presents and it is lovely having a day just to focus on playing with him. We have done a buffet as we had our main Christmas meal on Saturday so it's really relaxed. Can't wait for Zog later :)

We had our main Christmas meals (we had two) last night. The first was at my gradma's. She is almost 100 years old and has Alzheimers so she doesn't remember who i am so i always introduce myself, tell her what my name is, whose daughter i am, etc. Yesterday she asked me if i was from her family because i look a lot like her. It was just so nice that even though she doesn't know who i am she still identifies me as family... it made me so happy!

Aw, that's nice. Have you wanted to try for long?

Dd(11) has ASD and is Pokemon obsessed. She mentioned wanting a Switch for the new Pokemon game due out this Christmas last year. I told her if I could afford it, it's so expensive she wouldn't have anything else or any more games for it. I'd see what I can do, and can't promise I'll even be able to afford it. Or she can have several games for her current 3DS plus other surprises to open instead. She chose the second option. Before making this decision her 3DS had broken, and I'd promised to get it fixed before Christmas. She's been unable to find it, and I've been telling her she'll have nothing to play on Christmas Day if she doesn't find it for me to fix on time. I've actually had the limited Eevee edition Switch for her despite reminding her to find it. I saved it plus the extra games until last after she'd opened all her other presents. She cried and cried happy tears, which I've never seen her do and had me crying too.

Dd5 is excited and happy but far less greatful! But then she doesn't really understand the value or who it's from.

My DH got me a couple of presents I had asked for - sports socks. But the best thing was he'd written a list of 15 fun things to do and asked if we could take some time to put them in the diary for the year before we go back to work as he would like to spend more time together. After 14 years this was a nice surprise.
