Gravy without giblets. Help!

Our turkey is gibletless this year. Waaaah! Apart from the fact that I like snacking on them Blush it messes up my gravy recipe.

I'm heading off into town to buy some sort of substitute (or beg at the local butchers). Any suggestions as to a good replacement please?

It's not exactly the end of the world, but I am quite proud of my usual gravy.

Maybe not cordon bleu but the bags of gravy you can get in most supermarkets I think are ok. Dollop of red wine maybe, some meat juices.

Argh no, I hope you're joking re the mistletoe!
If you can't get giblets, chicken wings make a good base for a stock. There are also the juices left in the pan too, after roasting.

I wasn't joking re the mistletoe! It's actually rather funny. But I will drop them an email after Christmas. I've discovered that cherries do not make a good substitute either after finding town was out of cranberries. I appear to have made cherry soup Xmas Grin

I went down the chicken wings route and added in some chicken livers for good effect for the gravy. Stock tastes pretty good actually.

🤢 you can have mine. First year cooking a full turkey. Had to ring mil to help me find them. Boak. She was on about cooking them for 2 hours tomorrow. No chance I bought gravy from asda!

Good that you found them though.
