What to get my mum, getting desperate now

I just don't know what to get my mum. She is early 70's and has everything she needs. But she is having a difficult time looking after my Dad who has dementia and she has been quite down lately.

Every year I seem to buy her similar things; a scarf, jewellery, afternoon tea, hand cream etc. I'm sure she loves all these things but I just feel it's so repetitive and I just want her to feel treated as she is having a difficult time. I would love to treat her to a pamper but she is not one for massages, manicures etc.

Any ideas please, I'm running out of time!

I’m a bit late but does she have an Echo Dot? I am 74 and love mine. They are only £29.99 at the moment. I also love Amazon vouchers to use on my Kindle.

thegreylady what do you use it for in particular? Thinking of getting my parents one - early 70s.
Sorry to hijack OP.

You know a night away in a hotel would do her a lot of good. A real treat. If budget allows. Or pretty guesthouse .. doesnt have to be expensive.

mammamia we use it as a radio, as a clock and to have all the music we love available for the asking without putting on a cd. We ask it to play ‘sleep sounds’ if we are having problems sleeping, it will tell a story on request and give the outside temperature.
It will liaise with Netflix to find a particular film. It tells awful jokes and responds to good morning and goodnight.
We have two, a big Alexa in the living room and an Echo Dot in the bedroom which is just as good.

I think older people who have everything they need probably want time with you or an experience so theatre gift vouchers or cinema vouchers/afternoon tea sounds good.

@sunnyeyes I bought a writing set from wilkos so wrote each thing on one in metallic pen then put in a little envelope. I put all ten in a tin which says 'do more of what you love' on it also from wilkos. I wrapped it and wrote 'open me first' on it then wrapped it then wrapped the scrap book and wrote 'open me last' on it. We live 160 miles apart and don't have xmas together. She loves outdoor stuff but doesn't drive, we have national trust passes and a lot of the stuff is stuff done before or stuff we ve talked about doing. She is near the beach and we are landlocked so we go there a lot when we stay with her.
My ten were
York in feb half term. I have booked this one already
Weekend in Edinburgh probably September time I will book nearer the time
Overnight stay and xmas market of her choice
Day out at chatsworth for her birthday in summer
Long beach walk of her choice
Day at holy island
Boat trip to see the farne islands and the seals and puffins
Day out at Beamish (I paid for us to go for the Xmas stuff and we got an annual pass upgrade.
Day out at the Forbidden Corner (a quirky labyrinth place near her)
Day out at Bamburgh castle

Some of it is particular times of the year some is any time and we ll plan and book as we go through the year so no definite dates set.
