Christmas dinner with no stove

Due to a series of unfortunate events this week I will need to cook a Christmas dinner without the use of a stove.

Have oven and microwave at disposal. My main concern is vegetables and parboiling potatoes.

Have never had much success with microwaving vegetables as they come out chewy.

Any suggestions?!

The potatoes will be find without parboiling, just make sure the fat is hot enough. You can roast carrots, parsnips and cauliflower. What veg are you serving

Roast the veg, lovely carrots roasted with some honey and grain mustard. The pots will cook fine, they’ll just take longer. If you’re really struggling you can pick up some frozen roast potatoes already coated in duck fat. Good luck!

You can buy bags from Tesco which you put veg into (with a bit of water I think) to steam in the micro.

There is another thread on here about preparing Christmas dinner without an oven. Maybe you two could get together. Grin helpful

Actually I often do roast potatoes without parboiling as I'm lazy. They're fine.

Microwave steam and roast veg.

Would you consider frozen roasted. The Lidl deluxe ones are pretty good.

Ikea do a single ring induction plate with 13amp plug for about £30 I expect argos and othe places do to if you need something for a while.

Get a camping gas stove - they are excellent

You can ‘parboil’ the potatoes for roasties in the microwave.

I've never parboiled a potato and my roasties are quite frankly fantastic.

Could you get your hands on a steamer?
