Growing up we skipped breakfast and had a big Christmas lunch at around 12.30pm and then we would have left over meat in sandwiches for dinner. In laws don't eat anything all day and serve Christmas lunch/dinner at 4pm, they also don't allow you to make anything in their kitchen, so if you are staying at their house for Christmas/ Christmas eve you need to take your own snacks otherwise you are starving by the time food is served.
Is it more common to serve the Christmas lunch later in the day or around lunctime around 12ish?

DS is diabetic so we are keeping meal times similar to a usual day.

We'll have breakfast at the usual time, late morning brunch with family will be his lunch. Then Christmas dinner at 6.

Usual first food of the day is around 1 am when we have sausage rolls after church,

When its my turn to host eat at 2, and dont touch a drink until main course on the table

We have main meal about 5pm. Breakfast is usually pastries and/or bacon sarnies. Lunch about 12 and is sausage rolls, pringles, Yule log etc.
I must admit that we aren’t the hungriest st 5pm but I don’t want to cook later as I like to drink and relax all evening. I can’t do the main meal at lunchtime as this doesn’t fit in with the rest of the family’s plans, otherwise I like the idea of having starter, main, dessert etc and spreading them throughout the day.
Ps I could never, never wait until 4pm before eating! Horrific Shock

For some reason, turkey sandwiches seem to have become the part of our Christmas dinner my family most looks forward to, so we have lunch early enough that everyone is ready for turkey round 2 by evening. We aim for 1-2pm.

We have coffee and stollen at 8am when opening presents
Then full cooked champagne brunch at around 11/12 noon
Dinner served at around 7pm
