Not much to play with...

Step Kids are with us for Christmas this year. Last year we barely had two pennies to our name so our Boxing Day Christmas was a bit rubbish for them. Stupid to worry but I feel like with all the collectible stuff they wanted, there isn’t much to actually play with and I’m worried that they’re going to be disappointed and once everything is unwrapped they’ll have nothing to do! I’ve been shopping since September, and they’ve really got a great array of gifts but they’ve such high expectations that I’m worried it’s going to be a flop Xmas Sad

Does anyone else feel like this or should I start panic buying?!

Maybe you've just got The Twitch.

What have you bought them? Are they Santa ages, or older?

If they've got what they asked for then that's that. You don't need to go spending money you don't have just to add more plastic junk to their already carefully chosen presents.

Maybe get some age appropriate games to play together.

I’ve twitched many time this week but on things like mermaid tail blanket, glitter hair bows etc. Cute but they obviously won’t play with them.

DSS 11has got

PS4 VR & move controllers
Aftershave
VR game
Set of clothes
Couple of board games
Fallout game mug set (£15!!!)
Fortnite hoody

Then lynx set, chocolate, stationary bits.

DSD 5&6 have got

  • Karaoke machine
  • Nom Nums lip gloss/nail polish truck
  • LOL Under wraps
  • Medium pikmi pop
  • set of clothes
  • couple craft bits/paintable figures

Then slippers, hair bits, bath bombs.

The girls have a fair bit more to open as they’ve no ‘main’ present as such. Just looks a bit rubbish and I’m worried once it’s all unwrapped they’ll just want to stare at the iPad for hours!

I’ve got a DS aged 1 but don’t feel any of the same sort of pressure yet as obviously he’s a bit young for expectation but I just want everyone to be pleased 😩

There's loads to play with there!

The PS game, the karaoke machine, the board games, the LOL thing - and the whole house will probably end up having a go at the VR and singing.

Even the baby could try karaoke Xmas Grin .

Okay, thanks! Just needed a bit of perspective.

That’s how to karaoke machine came about - they all wanted to kneel on the floor and use baby’s tiny V Tech microphone!
