I have an 11 Ds waiting for him to go to sleep so I can wrap his presents.

He has Adhd so could be a while.

I wrapped everything during an afternoon whilst they were at school. Luckily I only work until midday so have a few hours off.

Last year I took a day off work to wrap. I didn’t want to do that this year and waste a day!

I'm not rich, but I have a gift wrapper. The presents for DC's are going on Monday to be wrapped and I will collect them on Wednesday all done. DH however usually does his family's and my gifts either Christmas Eve or the early hours of Christmas morning which really stresses me out.

MutedUser · 16/12/2018 05:38

Mama I need to more about your gift wrapper . How much doesn’t this cost ?

AcrossthePond55 · 16/12/2018 05:45

Yes yes, do spill!!

Mayrhofen · 16/12/2018 06:20

As I buy. So start beginning of November, all bought and wrapped by 30th.

wendz86 · 16/12/2018 07:13

I’ve had a couple of days off work so did most then . Did all the teachers , childminder , grandparent etc ones yesterday . Only two more things to wrap once I’ve bought them .

MamaHechtick · 16/12/2018 08:01

She charges £10 per hour. I provide the wrapping, tape and anything else like bows.
I found her through a friend, and use her for my DC's birthdays as well as Christmas. I think this year will cost me around £20-£30 at most. Ds's birthday cost me £15. To me it's absolutely worth it.

I used to have a lady who charged more but the gifts were absolutely beautifully wrapped, too pretty to open. She moved away though.
This lady does them well and they are all wrapped properly.

My god i’d love to be paid to wrap presents!
It’s the best thing about Christmas Grin
It’s my favourite thing to do, making everything look pretty. I’m not artistic in a conventional way (I can’t draw, have no eye for colour etc) but my god I can make a present look nice!
Please feel free to send all your stuff my way to wrap Grin

whenthewhistleblows · 16/12/2018 10:47

Took a day off work and did it. Stuck Scrooge’s on the tv and cracked a bottle of Chablis open at lunchtime- was lovely! I’m always too tired in the evenings by the time the kids have gone to sleep.

anniehm · 16/12/2018 11:02

Christmas Eve of course

BrieAndChilli · 16/12/2018 11:06

I did mine last night. Was up until 2am! Most of DHs family ordered from amazon and sent them straight to us this year so had all theirs to wrap too!

Arrowfanatic · 16/12/2018 14:37

Usually Xmas eve but in 2016 I misjudged the amount of paper I had and DH had to do a let minute emergency dash to Tesco before it shut. So last year I wrapped whilst the kids were in school.

This year I've wrapped some items, still have the majority of the kids presents to wrap. Will attempt this week whilst they're at school otherwise it'll be Xmas eve. I do have more than enough paper this time though. Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/12/2018 14:53

I did the ones that I've bought yesterday.
I still have some to buy .........I'm aiming not for Christmas Eve , hopefully next Saturday Xmas Grin

Just had an unexpected 3 hour window of time without any of the dc in the house - dp took them out for a walk and to have lunch with some of his family.
I declined this in favour of staying at home to wrap.
Got all the presents out from their hiding places, set up with tape and scissors and then realised I had run out of wrapping paper Angry
He had taken our car (I don’t have the key for his car and I can’t drive his van!) and I had no way of getting out anywhere good to get nice paper. The local shop didn’t have anything.
My lovely neighbour came to my rescue, it was a Christmas miracle Grin

ClashCityRocker · 16/12/2018 15:00

I will probably start this week.

I like the idea of present wrapping. Carols on in the background, lights a twinkling, a glass of something nice...

The reality is I've bought the most unwrappable wrapping paper, can't find the sellotape and my back hurts after about three badly wrapped presents.

JurassicGirl · 16/12/2018 15:28

I'm starting tomorrow when the DC are at school.

Wish I'd done it last week but kept thinking I had ages & now I realise I've got loads to do next week & have to fit the wrapping in too 😐 poor me!

I'm using up last years paper & it's going to really annoy me if I run out of certain colours etc but I've made my mind up so will have to grin & bare it!

Brown paper next year!

CanSurvive · 16/12/2018 15:31

Love wrapping. Don’t bother with hiding as once they are wrapped they gonunder the tree. Like seeing them build up and we don’t do the whole bare tree and Santa brings everything.

Moominfan · 16/12/2018 15:35

I normally do it all Christmas Eve wishing I'd done it earlier. This year I have finally got my shit together and wrapped each present as I've bought them

Starlight456 · 16/12/2018 18:13

What a lovely neighbor @cakeNinja

I couldn’t leave it till Christmas Eve I would worry too much I would run out of paper.

Funnyface1 · 16/12/2018 19:30

Last week. Got the kids done and families, just dh to do now, but I need to buy more paper this week.

sophisticatedsarcasm · 16/12/2018 22:38

I usually wrap other family members presents the day before we put our tree up so they can go straight under the tree, I wrapped dc last week as I usually work non stop in the run up (week before) and with them being home from school I don’t get a chance,

RoseMartha · 16/12/2018 23:17

If possible as soon as I buy something.
