Ideas for a lovely aunt in her 70s?

I am trying to find a nice present for my aunt, who is hard to buy for.

She is single and in her seventies. She is a retired nurse, and is very active - travels around the world with friends, and very involved in her church and local charities.

She dabbles with crafts, she doesn't drink a lot, and I would say she is a bit of a hoarder, so no ornaments or anything - her house is overflowing with stuff! She has an iPad, but struggles with it a bit, I think, she's not really great with technology.

Anybody have any good ideas? Or a website that might have something interesting? Maybe around £40?

Hobbycraft sell Kirstie Allsopp craft sets circa £20

Do you have any national trusts or large museums near you? They often have unusual/interesting items in their gift shops.

Voucher for massage/facial/haircut

Some sort of useful and clever lightweight or collapsible or whatever travel kit?

Similar age and love to travel. I really like my packing cubes . They make packing and travelling so much easier . I think the ultimate are Eagle Creek but I just have cheap ones .

a voucher to take her out for afternoon tea
tickets to see a show

We used to make up a hamper for my DHs grandma when she was alive. She never wanted for anything but she absolutely loved those hampers. We'd buy fancy tea bags, coffee, small bottle of wine, fancy cheese, biscuits, jams, etc.

A ticket to a nearby RHS show in the summer if she likes gardening/plants

A one to one 'get the most out of your ipad' type session with someone?
Or tickets to something you could go to together... outdoor theatre?

How about a course of some sort - RHS, WI - cookery/ craft/ gardening??

A lovely silk scarf. They are lightweight and great for travelling but also stylish and gorgeous to wear. Buy in local stores or do a bit of a dig around on Etsy - I've bought some gorgeous hand printed ones on there over the years.

Ditto, anything in cashmere - eg cashmere socks or gloves. Practical, stylish and can work well when travelling. Socks particularly good for planes etc.

Otherwise I second the idea of experiences - high tea somewhere, a show, trip to a garden/zoo/museum etc.

My mother is older (88) but very active, arty and likes to travel. Recent gifts:

Electric blanket
Electric throw for sitting reading
Term of local painting course
Book (Tombland by C Samson because my mother grew up in Norwich)
Hamper to suit her tastes as described above
Nice hand cream
Nice bath stuff - DM hates showers
Calendar for the next year - always as a Christmas present, usually arty or NT properties but this year Norwich scenes!

Live is totaĺly right. My mum is the same and I am making a hamper with all the things she loves..Euthymol and Signal toothpaste, Creme Puff, bar soap and ginger everything! A hamper with favourite things is the best gift ever. They love that you know and remember.

Thanks, some good ideas there. I like the hamper idea. The cashmere sounds good too.
