A family member has given me £20 to buy something fun for my 3 year old dd.
Thing is I'm stumped for what to get her, she's into lots of different things bit was after ideas that are a bit different...
So what would your 3 year old love?

Theneverendingcleaningcycle · 14/12/2018 21:47

Yes.. marble run is a great idea.
I've spent so long trying to get her something from us and close relations I've run out of ideas.
All she wants is a doll that she's seen. She won't give us any other ideas.

If she has lots of things to open from you and others why not spend it on a day out after Christmas? You could then send the family member some photos of the day out to say thank you? My DGPs gave me some money for all of us, I had a day out planned next year with it (but then my two fell in love with two baby rabbits at an animal holding session last week so we have bought them instead). DGPs think this is awesome :-)

My 3 year old would want a doll too! Aquadoodle has been a big hit?

PenelopeFlintstone · 14/12/2018 21:53

Play doh and a book.

frogsbreath · 14/12/2018 22:09

The 10 books for £10 Julia Donaldson book set at the bookpeople. Bought my DS this at 3ish and he's grown through The Smartest Giant in Town, Paper Dolls, Gruffalo's Child etc and still loves them. Then £10 of paper & pencils to tide you over a bit on consumables. Smile

Hofuckingho · 14/12/2018 22:14

Duplo.

Santababyclaus · 14/12/2018 22:14

My grandmother always gives us £20 for our dd at Xmas. This year (she's 3.5) we're going to use it towards a day trip somewhere then let dd use £5ish to buy something she wants from the gift shop.

I also agree with book people! There's also sue hendra who is fantastic. The please mr panda books, mog, Paddington, Winnie the witch. And if you don't have it you choose by Nick sharratt. Best book for preschoolers our copy is so battered and well loved a firm favourite of dds.

My dds weren't really into dolls at 3 but loved a build a bear!! Still into them now at 10 and 6!

Also a doctors kit with real plasters and bandages. With a note book and pens.

PodgeBod · 15/12/2018 15:41

Mine likes games. She wants Wally the Washer and Shark Bite. She already has Hungry Hippos and Let's Go Fishing (or the cheaper alternatives)

Scrumptiousbears · 15/12/2018 15:44

Anything Peppa Pig.

BrokenLink · 15/12/2018 15:51

I have bought my 3 year old niece a Jellycat Bashful Bunny. It's an adorable toy rabbit with lovely soft fur. It's so lovely I want to keep it.

CantSleepClownsWillEatMe · 15/12/2018 16:03

If she's getting the doll why not some doll accessories? Bath, changing mat et, high chair?

Something like this play doh set might be good www.argos.co.uk/product/4343433

Or I've bought this www.argos.co.uk/product/8436195 (or a version of) for 3 different 3-4 yo in the last couple of years and it's alwayes been well received.

I'm Grin at "she won't give us any ideas", she's three bless her, she barely knows what exists!

BikeRunSki · 15/12/2018 16:05

Theneverendingcleaningcycle · 15/12/2018 17:12

Thanks for all the ideas - I'm a kids bookseller so we've got hundreds of books but what's a few more.

I'm liking the day out idea. Will have a look what's on in pur local area.

Thank you all!

I would agree with marble run- I bought one (galt big one) when my now 11 year old was 3. It has hands down been the most played with toy we own, both with my own dc and visitors.
