Peril free Xmas film (Christmas lie in tactic!)

Last year they woke up at 3am- loudly. Sincerely hoping this won't happen again as we have child free guests staying.
I am stealth training them on the use of the DVD player. I have ordered trashy American cereal which must be from Father Christmas as I would NEVER buy it. And will leave out along with milk and marshmallow fluff and toast.
I need a film which they will enjoy and be able to watch without having a panic and running screaming upstairs. They are 5 and 9.
They like Elf (tho' are a little bored of it now), Home Alone was a bit too scary and older DC gets cringey quite easily- I can't recall if Nativity has lots of embarrassing moments.
Snowman is watched on Christmas Eve and neither seemed to bother with Polar Express.
Any ideas v gratefully received. It's that or tramadol tbh.

The Santa Claus movies
Nutcracker sweet
Muppets Christmas carol
Jingle all the way
Arthur Christmas
An elf’s story
All I want for Christmas

Also check in Asda / Tesco / wherever you shop, as they always have a Christmas movies section within the dvd aisle.

But seriously 3am???
I would be telling them santa won’t be coming if they do that again this year and that they can’t leave their rooms until at least 6am or the gifts go back to the North Pole Xmas Wink

Oooh will look all those up. Thank you.
Yes, we couldn't believe it- especially as we had been up until 1am wrapping.
I just need not to upset the 20 something guests and put them off having kids. They are staying because "Christmas is more magical with kids" and I don't want to disillusion them (at 3am, they will prob have realised by 8am or so...)

Arthur Christmas is brilliant
But I'd be stealth training them to stay in bloody bed.
All that sugar in the early hours and they will be bouncing off the walls.

Miracle on 34th street.
Christmas chronicles (but it’s on Netflix, not a dvd)

duriandurian · 12/12/2018 18:35

They aren't used to sugar (or TV) either really. So a topsy turvey day. Planning on running them to exhaustion on Christmas Eve and hoping that wins us some sleep. It's lovely they are energetic and excited but less so that early!
Will investigate Arthur Christmas, thank you!
Luckily MiL hosting so will all be slumping on her sofa

Santa Buddies,is great if they like cute Labrador puppies

TheGirlWhoLived · 12/12/2018 21:45

Cold toast is going to be a bit crap. Cold croissants would work but they might choke whilst your in bed Confused

duriandurian · 13/12/2018 11:45

Ooh I have endured enjoyed some of the other films in the Buddies oeuvre and kids loved. Thanks for tip.
Yes, maybe brioche better than toast- good thinking. They are much better at eating than sleeping - take after me!
