Very specific request!

We always do a Christmas Eve Box for the kids with pjs and the like. We always like to put a bath bomb or similar in to encourage them to go for a bath and get to bed. There lies the problem! DD has eczema, she's had it since about 4 months old with no sign of it going anywhere (she's 4 now) in previous years we've just accepted she'll flair up after using the bath bomb or put it in and then let some water out so only a little bit was left.
This year though I'd like to be able to put one in that she won't react to and that she can actually enjoy. I could leave it out but then DS will miss out on this annual treat.

So my very specific request is: does anyone know if I can get a bath bomb or bubbles that are suitable for a very sensitive child with bad eczema?!

Both my kids have eczema and I can use lush bathbombs for them. The staff are always helpful when we need to know which ones are for sensitive skin. As a rule of thumb I stay away from highly fragranced and glitter ones, generally the seasonal ones, as they're not great for their sensitive skin.

My DF suffers terribly with Psoriasis - he has never reacted to the blue seaweed bath bomb from Lush.
Can't think of the name but it smells gorgeous. I think it may just be called The Big Blue.

If not; bath crayons, magic flannels, mouldable soap?

My dd has mind eczema but lush flares it up

RJnomore1 · 09/12/2018 21:58

Go into lush and talk to them. My youngest had really bad excema and there are some of their products designed to sooth it. Some have very strong oils though and would flare it.

You could get her a massage bar from Lush instead - they are very good for eczema, and an be used in the bath to put a layer on the skin.

You can buy crayola and other brand coloured tablets to change the colour of the bath. They have no fragrance or chemicals in them. We use these in our eczema household with no issues.

I bought the e45 bubble bath and just decanted it into a different bottle to make it look more exciting.

I grew up with sensitive skin and unable to use any bath products. I used my daily shower gel to create bubbles as a kid. If I was already having a flare up I would use feminine hygiene gel with no scents etc (it's crazy mild and boots own brand can be a shower gel too) and mix in something like rose water or vanilla extract to make it smell nice.

I sympathise. My son has eczema and we use the child's farm stuff which he doesn't react to. Pp mentioned magic flannels. Mine love these and it might make a nice treat if you don't have them often.
