Does anyone have the Balsam Hill Grandview Fir tree?

I'm panicking a bit, I bought one online and although it was on sale it still cost a lot! I got a 7ft pre-lit one. I've not unboxed it yet, hoping to be able to do it this coming weekend. Is it lovely and bushy and real looking? I'm so worried that I'll have wasted my money. I've seen posts on here about BH trees but not that particular one.

I got a BH tree last year-the slimline Fir. It looks really good.

I've got another BH tree - this is it here (sorry about the mess and the fact we haven't got a tree skirt). You do need to spend some time fluffing out the branches so it looks full and bushy, but I think they look nice especially once the decorations are on.

Mine is nearly ten years old, still looks fab, the £££ cost is long forgotten.

I do spend an hour fluffing/arranging the branches.

It will be lovely.

I've had my BH 7ft Pre-lit Fraser Fir up since last Saturday. It is beautiful!

I'm sure yours will be lovely however I would point out you have gone for a 'traditional' style which is BHs least realistic type. I assume it's not supposed to look realistic?

I have a BH but not sure which one the first time we put it up we watched the YouTube tutorial on how to set up the branches so it took a bit of time, but now each time it just takes a bit of moving branches around to look good. This is it before we added the decorations

Sorry picture won't post

I love it! It was described as "realistic" so not "most realistic" but still looks way more real than any fake tree we've had before! It's tall (7ft) but not overly wide and I now think we could have got away with a wider tree but it is really beautiful and the lights on it are gorgeous! I can't believe there's so many lights and just one plug Grin I think I could do more fluffing but am happy with it for now. It was worth the money Xmas Smile

So pleased OP, even though you can see the photos and read the reviews it is a leap.

When I bought my big BH tree I bought another one first from Christmas tree world.

I didn’t like it and sucked up the cost of return postage which was painful but I was so pleased with the replacement from BH and still am all these years later.

What happens when a light stops working, is it like traditional tree lights where whole sections won't work until you sort it? I am drawn to the idea of a prelit tree- that's the hardest bit!

Toomanybaubles · 09/12/2018 08:09

I have got one of each, a BH prelit and a BH unlit. I actually prefer the unlit one which I put two sets of these on.

Toomanybaubles · 09/12/2018 08:11

To answer your question, sorry, each section of the tree has a plug that connects the lights to the next section of tree so I guess you could lose â…“ or more of your lights depending on tree size if something went wrong.

picklemebaubles · 09/12/2018 08:40

Thank you! They seem to be fairly long lasting, from the reviews. Something to aspire to, perhaps.

firstidrinkthecoffee · 09/12/2018 11:07

I have the 6ft pre lit, first fake tree in years and I love it.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/12/2018 11:52

I have an unlit BH tree - at the 'cheaper' end of the most realistic ones - it looks great. I spent ages sorting the branches though, it's really worthwhile doing.

Toomanybaubles · 09/12/2018 13:45

I think they are pickle. My first one is a Fraser fir, only 4.5 ft unlit so only £180. It seemed like a lot at the time but I am now on £20 a year and I can’t imagine having to buy a new one. It sits on an old wooden chest so is about 6ft high and it worked in my old cottage, now looks fine in a bay window in a house with high ceilings.

I did notice a couple of branches where the wire had been exposed this year but I just turned the green plastic that covers it around (the centre of the branch) and it has disappeared.
