Hi, we can't have real tree due to having cats and I really miss the smell. I've resorted to smelling real trees in shops. I've heard about scentsicles and found some in john lewis couple of weeks ago but I had a cold and couldn't smell anything at the time. None of my friends or family use them so I thought I'd ask on the Christmas board. Any good? Best scent? Thanks in advance.

Is that that annoying radio ad. Fill it with scentsicles and then we just PILE it with baubles.

We put our fake tree up today and hung scented sticks inside the tree. Ive just been sat here thinking how lovely it smells actually :)

Do they do go inside? Do they stick on or do you have to hollow a bit of the tree out

whatswithtodaytoday · 03/12/2018 07:21

Why can't you have a real tree with cats?

LegArmpits · 03/12/2018 07:24

You just hang them on.

Yeah they're really good. Use quite sparingly though as they can be overpowering otherwise.
One went in with the box of baubles last year and they smelt really Christmasy when I opened them!

So in what way are they "inside" the tree as the advert says (I think it's dubelm)

I live my senticles - I found them in a local garden centre. Make the room smell lovely.

Mine are long sticks with a hook, I just hook them on my fake tree near the trunk. One at standing up height, one at sitting down. 'It's lovely.

I bought a real tree once. It smelled divine. The cat kept trying to use it as a scratching post, then a wee- spot Hmm, and finally a look out post. Was a disaster. And I was still pulling pine needles out the carpet 6 YEARS later...

Thanks for all replies. I think mingling to go to an have another sniff of them now my cold has gone. I wouldn't take risk of having a real tree as they can be mildly toxic to cats as can any water from the base. And i wouldworry about needles being digested. I'm thinking of drying some oranges and using cinamon sticks.
