Gift for tricky to buy for brother & SIL

Hoping that someone can help me with some suggestions for a Christmas gift for my brother & SIL please.
We aren’t close, have very different outlooks on life & so I don’t readily know what they have or current interests (which have dwindled since they had their DDs aged 5 & 2). They have lots of disposable income, live just outside London, brother travels a lot for work & they holiday relatively frequently. Budget is around £50-60, some years they blow budget with generous gifts for us/other sibling and other years don’t spend much.
I think an ‘experience’ or subscription would go down well, however in all my searching I can’t find anything within budget that would work as for example they wouldn’t eat at a ‘cheap/chain’ restaurant (other brother made that mistake last year!). I really like the idea of the spicery subscription (in fact have bought for DHs family!) but SIL doesn’t eat curries! Is there anything similar??

What about a magazine subscription? - no idea if that would be within budget...
Or membership to a film club / cinema pass?

What about a high end restaurant/hotel guide book? There is a well regarded one but I can't remember what it's called.

Thanks Rubyslippers, my parents buy them a couple of magazine subscriptions already otherwise that would’ve been great option. Film club could be a good idea, they don’t really have any easy access childcare (all family 2+ hours away) so will need to think about whether a gift where they would need babysitters more than once would get used.

What about a chocolate subscription from hotel chocolat? X

marmiteloversunite · 02/12/2018 08:16

We got to the point where siblings were too difficult to buy for so we all decided to just give presents to the children (nieces and nephews) which saved a whole lot of hassle.

Hotel Chocolat subscription looks fab, thanks very much for that suggestion. Does anyone know of any discount codes or referral type offers for them? Many thanks

And yes marmite I’d love to get to that agreement with my family (we have with DHs side), however our younger brother doesn’t have kids yet & other brother still thinks adult gifting is important!

I feel your pain! I bought mine tickets to a musical and they were v well received so I did it again! Also they raved about tea at the Ritz and clay pigeon shooting experiences, and a pet portrait.

Have run out of ideas for this year!

These New York Times travel books are v good: www.waterstones.com/book/nyt-36-hours-europe-2nd-edition/barbara-ireland/9783836540483

And so are these Tashen ones: www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/lifestyle/all.htm

You could buy one of them a travel guide and the other a travel book I.e. the New York Times Europe in 36 hours for DB and a year on province for SIL

Cake subscription & cake stand
Cheese subscription & cheese board
Nice set of knives - Joseph and Joseph have some good sets on Amazon with a knife sharpener would take you up to £50.
Denby have got some gorgeous bottles for oil & balsamic vinegar - you could then buy good version of each of those too.

I would spend the whole budget on a good bottle of champagne, or perhaps a couple of bottles of good wine - chateaneuf du pape or something? If they have everything the need and extravagant luxury item should be appreciated!

Thank you all for your ideas, much appreciated
