... do you make anything special for people who don’t like Christmas desserts (Christmas cake, mince pies, Christmas pudding).

Normally I would just eat ALL the chocolate but this year we’re hosting and wondered what I could make that’s a bit more special / Christmassy! Any ideas?

I'm doing pavlova and trifle this year too. I've made nigellas girdle buster pie in the past and that's gone down well.

We often go to friends for Christmas and it's our job to bring dessert and wine. We always take a baked cheesecake as well as Christmas pudding, by special request! Most people have some of both.

Really good trifle
White chocolate roulade with raspberries and meringue with a Cointreau cream
Dark chocolate mousse with pistachios and orange zest sprinkled on top
Roast pineapple with homemade coconut ice cream and lovely thin hazelnut biscuits

I do a multi layer meringue thing with chestnut purée, boozy cream and chocolate chunks. It’s delicious

I’m a decent enough cook, but I cheat and buy something frozen as an alternative dessert for Christmas Day.

Then I make a trifle & a fruit salad for Boxing Day when there is more time. This year I’m making this chocolate & Baileys trifle, which is easy but very good. www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/boozy-brownie-trifle

Also it seems like meringue is heavily involved which I like (but would never usually have at home) so definitely looks like the way to go. Sooo much better than dried fruit, dried fruit, dried fruit

Check out nigellas chocolate pavlova. I always do this at Christmas and the whole family love it! We also make a biscoff cheesecake too😊

Nigella’s Christmas pavlova from “How to be a Domestic Goddess”. Really easy to do and lovely tasting. You can put all sorts of fruit on it.

I usually make a chocolate Yule log (such fun making it look loggy with a robin and holly sprig on top and a dusting of icing sugar snow) and a trifle.

I made this for DDs birthday yesterday. No cooking, just assembling and it went down really well with everyone. There are some great recipes on this site. Usually I make something like a trifle, a cheesecake and we have warm mince pies with cream/ice cream but everyone asked to have this for christmas instead.
