Solid soap recommendation please?

I want to convert DH to solid soap- hate the waste of plastic shower gel bottles- so I'm looking for a bar for his stocking.
His favourite shower gel is the original source tea tree and mint, also likes the lemon one.
He uses those shower scrunchies so I need something quite sudsy (is that a word?!).
Please can anyone recommend anything?

Dh uses the coal tar soap. I have a Simple unscented one just now

If you look online you can buy tea tree and mint solid soap too

InfantaSybilla · 27/11/2018 13:18

Wild Sage, they sell a tea tree oil soap and a cinnamon soap - they may appeal to him.

Personally I like olive oil soaps

Can anyone recommend a Lush one that is sudsy?

Knittink · 27/11/2018 13:21

Nesti Dante, especially the cypress one. Big, lovely bars, last ages.

Xiaoxiong · 27/11/2018 13:22

Korres Pure Greek Cedar is very manly smelling, olive oil based. I got it at Waitrose.

I think the Soap Kitchen do a tea tree and lime shampoo bar as well.

Have a sniff (literally) around a TK Maxx if you can. I have converted my Dh to a soap bar and they have lots of lovely fragrances.

I've tried so many soaps but always go back to the trusty and basic af Dove beauty cream bars. They're the only ones that smell nice, make decent suds and don't leave me with a horrible dry feeling after rinsing off.

Holidayshopping · 27/11/2018 13:33

How do you all store your solid soap? Is there a way to do it without ending up with a layer of dried soap scum?

whatthefoxsaid · 27/11/2018 13:38

I stick with Dove too LMDC it's the nicest I've found but a bit feminine/soapy for dh.
Thanks for the suggestions so far, I'll go to Lush next time I'm shopping. Its the sudsy that will be the deal breaker!

Nesti Dante is fab and lasts ages.

CrumpettyTree · 27/11/2018 14:02

This is the best soap dish I've had Holiday

Solid soap recommendation please?
InfantaSybilla · 27/11/2018 14:05

@Holidayshopping you need some kind of dish where the air can circulate above and below. I have one fixed to the tiles which is metal.

I've seen online using two flattish but fairly small pebbles and balancing the soap on it.

peoplearepeople · 27/11/2018 14:23

Faith in nature do a range of good soaps. My OH really likes the blue cedar for men one. They also do a tea tree one along with a green tea lemongrass one which could be worth a try. Holland and Barrett often have them on offer for around £1. Smile

... if you're in the northwest and go to farmers market type things, lovely soap (the only one DH has found which doesn't irritate his eczema) it's a bargain £1 a bar. Online it's more because of postage.

Before we found them, our favourite special soaps were from www.trevarnoskincare.co.uk

OneStepMoreFun · 27/11/2018 17:12

Pears? That smells lovely and clean but not at all girly. I can;t stand the smell of coal tar personally. DH used to use it when we first met, but I weaned him off it.

You could get him some nice Roger & Gallet ones for Christmas.

1stMrsF · 27/11/2018 18:33

Another vote for Nesti Dante.

Siannybobs · 27/11/2018 18:46

Lucy Bee! I've not tried it yet but I've got some on order on the way, will report back

Janek · 27/11/2018 18:50

Friendly soap do a mint and poppyseed and a lemongrass and something soap. They are both lovely and quite cheap (although you have to pay postage on top).
