Anyone got any ideas for factual books for boys. Lots of interesting facts and figures included. One boy is very clever and loves mulling over his factual books.

Have a look at usborne.com/

Lots of factual books about science, space, the human body, animals, Viking, dinosaurs and so on. Of course you might get them cheaper from the Book People or Book Depository.

National geographic kids do an animal and dinosaur encyclopaedia. Ripleys believe it or not books are good too

winewolfhowls · 26/11/2018 07:30

We got some great factual books from the works recently. animal world records, most disgusting facts, that sort of thing

Usborne are doing a range of Business for Beginners, Politics for Beginners etc, those look good.

My 7 year old DS is similar. I’ve got him books on these these from the Book People:

Sharks
Snakes
Dinosaurs
Astronomy
British wildlife
2019 nature month by month
World religions

Also in similar vein books on

Pokemon
Roblox
Minecraft

Guinness Book of Records or Ripley's Believe Ot or Not?

My son loves horrible science/wild geography and murderous maths also 100 things to know about science. He's currently reading 100 things to know about maths and coding.

What about the Animalium and similar books?

beela · 26/11/2018 10:38

My 8yo ds bought the Guinness book of records with some birthday money, he absolutely loves it.

My 7yo dd loves the usbourne beginners books which cover a good range of subjects - we have a fair few space ones, and volcanoes, planet earth etc.

The usbourne lift the flap info books are good too - especially the one about the human body.

National Geographic do an excellent animal encyclopedia and science encyclopedia, as well as little books on different animals and countries, we often get them for countries we are going to.

TK Maxx has loads at the minute. My boy loves fact books

macnab · 26/11/2018 14:58

National Geographic do a range of books called "weird but true" which have gone down really well with our kids. Also second the vote for "Ripleys Believe it or Not"

Aquila magazine subscription! My sons love it, every month it has a new theme with a summer bumper edition. I may or may not secretly read their magazine when they’re in bed and keep the old copies next to my bed...😇
