Has anyone bought, and used, Lidl's silicone tree baking mould?

I'm wondering whether to use cake mix or biscuit dough in it Confused

Any tips?

I have them from previous years but only used them to make chocolate Christmas trees. Put mini smarties and other decorations in the base, cover with chocolate and leave to cool.
I haven't tried anything else in them yet

Ooh, chocolate is a good idea! We'll get some in town tomorrow morning to make one.

How big are they? You could do the Smarties and a chocolate crispie mix?
I do a Chocolate Crispie Wreath Cake with a round cake tin, lined with clingfilm, put a glass in the middle (covered in film) some artistically thrown smarties and the crispie mix. Leave to set , take out the glass , turn out , peel off film, slice up and dig in Xmas Grin

They're not very big 70, we'll have a go with rice crispie mix too though...it'll keep us busy if nothing else Grin

Lucysmam, I haven't seen that in Lidl but would certainly buy it, even though I always make the Lakeland biscuit tree.

But I would try it with a Rocky Road mix, such as Nigella's, (or Chocky Biccy cake as it is usually known here) but without big items like nuts and using Oreos ground fairly finely. I make this quite often and it sets firmly, not crumbly. I reckon it would work pressed well into the mould. It would be more economical than using just chocolate and certainly easier than a cake mix. If I spot the mould I will give it a go as we have to have Rocky R in big quantities for Christmas.

Oh sorry, mine are quite different. I thought you were talking about these type of moulds. I had them from Lidl last year.
I'm sure whatever you use will be delicious Grin

GVmama I'd have had those last year if I'd seen them!
