What to get dd (15) for Christmas?

Have a dilemma on what to get DD for Christmas, the only big thing she wants at the moment is a Nintendo Switch and we're not getting her that as she already struggles with managing time on screens (has a 3ds, Wii, laptop and phone) and getting used to revision, even she admits she probably shouldn't get one yet but obviously still covets one. We'll probably get her one for her birthday which is near the end of exams so a better time. She'd like a tv but in the future when she has a bigger room.

Even so, she is working very hard at the moment so we'd like to treat her to something 'big ticket' that she'll like, just don't know what! Something that will help her get off screens and do something else would be great but don't want to look like we've got her something too 'worthy and practical', especially as I'm getting DH an Xbox One for Christmas so don't want her left out.

Any ideas? She likes coding but is trying to get seriously into it, wants to design games eventually, so I'm not sure if the Kano kits will be too young for her? (I know I'm back to talking screen stuff but something coding based would be far more practical and help with her education rather than a games console)

Wireless noise cancelling headphones? I relied on them for revising when I was at university and they can be used for fun stuff too.

A raspberry pi. She can use the coding skills to make it do all sorts.

Or something completely different. Gig tickets? Something to encourage a sport/hobby?

What she'd like is a Nintendo switch! Personally I'd get her that.

Thanks for the suggestions - think she'd like wireless headphones and the raspberry pi, will have to look into what kit is best/what it can do. Have tried to get her into hobbies but she's not into sport and not found a hobby that really grabs her yet, besides coding and chemistry (which is really hard to do practically at home after about age 8 Grin )

Supermodel - she does want one and normally I go for getting what someone actually wants rather than what they 'should have' but as explained we're not getting a Switch at this time, it would almost certainly make things a lot harder for her in the middle of her gcse run-up and having to wait 6 months would be better in the long run however much she wants one.

Haven't anything more helpful than seconding Pi my cousin is into coding and has just left uni and started working in coding and would recommend. However maybe you could suggest the switch as a GCSE reward for some incentive too? (Depending on financial situation of course)

I loved chemistry, and got really into cooking and baking at home when I realised it was like a chemistry practical Grin

I just got these for DS1 from the Works, if she might enjoy them? Chemistry is more and more physics as you get more advanced!!

Is she interested in music? My dd (15) is getting concert tickets as the big present this year.

She sounds like my dd, I have to say I have caved in and bought the Switch but it will be kept downstairs and not in her room so I can limit her time on it, she only wants it to play Pokemon (not interested in other games), I’m sure her 3DS will be made redundant. She’s also getting some clothes from EMP as she’s desperate for clothes. Dd has her birthday a month after Christmas and I have no idea what to get her. It’s a tricky age and it’s hard if they are not really into clothes and make up.
