Babyliss Curl Secret

Does anyone have any experience of these please?
DD aged 12 has long hair (below bra line at the back). Has anyone used it successfully on hair this length?
I’ve seen that there seem to be 2 types - the normal one and the ‘Babyliss Curl Secret Simplicity’ which is cheaper - has anyone also used the simplicity on hair this length? And what is the difference between the 2?
Really grateful for your advice

I have one and long hair it will only curl the bottom of her hair as it can only take in so much hair. It works well on my thick wavy hair but it doesnt work on dds hair who long straight shiney hair, the curl fall right out.

Following as my daughter wants a curling wand.

Redyoyo that’s useful thanks - it gets good reviews but I did wonder whether it’s not so good for long hair.
The simplicity is down to £50 in rose gold on Argos but if I was to go for it I’m wondering if you need the Pro model (more expensive) which has different settings to get it to work better on long hair? Anyone else have any advice?

Following, I have wanted one for a while but have stupidly straight and flat hair.
DDS easy braider won't work on my hair so wonder if this would.

LittleMe03 · 19/11/2018 21:14

A few years back I got one for a Christmas present because I loved my hair curly. Unfortunately it was useless in my hair which is very fluffy when dry and I found it very time consuming and didn't really work very well in my hair. I have a lot of hair thou which Is naturally very all over the place 😄

My dd has a Lee Stafford curling wand and it's the easiest thing to use, it's like a stack of balls smooshed together into a stick that heats up. You need heat gloves to go quick though.

I have very fine straight hair that usually refuses to hold a curl but I have the black version of the curl secret and my curls stay in all day with it. I would recommend that one. It’s currently down to £99 on very but it went very cheap last Black Friday so may go cheaper yet. HTH.

HoHoFuckingHo · 19/11/2018 21:24

Also meant to add it was down past my bra back last time I used it.

Gettingthereslowly1 · 19/11/2018 22:06

That’s all really useful, thank you everyone. I think I’m going to look out on Black Friday

Lee Stafford chopstick curling wand is really good

AuditAngel · 19/11/2018 22:30

I have one, I can use it on myself, hair currently about boob length, but was a lot longer before.

DD2’s hair is waist length, I can curl her hair usin pg it, but you need to take very small sections to avoid it jamming.

For my girls hair, I prefer to use tongs, but easier to use this on myself

GetOffTheTableMabel · 19/11/2018 22:36

I curl dd’s hair with it. I think it does a good job on her long, straight bra strap length hair. My layered shoulder length hair goes a bit massive and looks rather mad.
It takes a very long time to do her hair with it as the hair is thick & it jams if you try to put much in it at once. The curls do last overnight though.

Gettingthereslowly1 · 20/11/2018 21:13

Oh gosh that Lee Stafford wand does look good for small curls and urs got great reviews too. Am dreaming of an amazing Black Friday deal on the curl secret so I could justify both, on the basis that I will try them too Shock - is this bad?! Blush

Depends on your dds hair type.
Its useless on mine, and does take an age to do.

trixymalixy · 21/11/2018 14:09

I have the simplicity. AFAIK the difference is that it only curls one way whereas the more expensive versions you can change the curl direction.

It's good, but only curls about halfway up DD's long hair.
