Affordable Experience Gifts for Kids

I'm trying to curtail the amount of stuff coming into my house this year and coupled with the fact that there isn't much the kids actually want has me thinking of experience type gifts.

I'd like to have some ideas ready when family ask me what they'd like, but I'm struggling to think of cheaper options (£5 to £20 per head), I think they'd prefer something tangible like ticket/voucher rather than cash and logistics mean we couldn't do something like 'a day out with Auntie Sarah' .

Anyone have any good ideas for family/young kids experience gifts?

I bought my niece a red letter days voucher for afternoon tea. With code DEAL15 it worked out at £10.

How old are they? Relatives have paid towards junior driving lessons for DS(13). Think they start from 10yo, but do some sort of driving experience for younger children.

Karting?

Laser tag?

I can't get DS to go to Laser tag with me and I have begged. It looks cool.

I'm planning to buy cinema vouchers for my nieces, and my SIL is doing the same for my teens. They will very much appreciate them I know!

My dm has got my DC vouchers for the trampoline place locally...they were on offer at itison. I have got ds (6) basketball tickets (1 adult and 2 child tix so he can bring a friend) and I may get him and me a ticket for the football.

I'm absolutely with you in that I'm trying to reduce the plastic shit that won't get played with.

How about voucher for:
Local dry ski slope (ours does intro lessons for only 20 quid; for younger kids they do a rubber ring slide down the slope)

ice skating (check our Groupon local)

Escape room booking (if they are teens)

or if they are older, a nearby city centre treasure hunt you where you get the clues on your phone

If they are junior school age: my local Groupon has cheap deals for many animal experiences including birds of prey, alpacks and pygmy pigs!

My husband took my 7 year old to a "Bear grylls" style day where the kids made a shelter and built a campfire and cooked lunch. she loved that and it was very cheap.

The other thing I sometimes do is make up a voucher for myself from the website of a local attraction if they don't do vouchers eg our local ceramic painting cafe. We are lucky to have a craft village nearby where you can do glass-fusing and silver jewellery making, and our local Wildlife Trust does some nice organised activities too.

If you are near London I would recommend Kidzania. kidzania.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5Ia9y4ve3gIVqL3tCh0fxANlEAAYASAAEgJyVvD_BwE

If they are age 7+ they can stay there alone whilst adults go shopping/cinema/lunch etc in Westfield.

My dc who are 12 & 10 love it there.
