Little luxuries for dh

Dh appreciates indulgent/ luxury items. Any suggestions for stocking filler type items that fit these criteria around the £20-30 mark? Really struggling for him this year.

alpaca bedsocks might be a good choice for him. They’re hypoallergenic as they have no lanolin and they’re also antibacterial so don’t need to be washed as often as cashmere

Mini selection of coffee syrups Costa sell these as well.

TK Maxx have some nice and unusual biscuits and sweets. And also candles that are more masculine smelling (I love them more than floral and citrus feminine scents)

marshmallow toasting kit

You can usually get shower gel cheaper than aftershave though it feels quite luxurious as it’s very expensive for what it is.

I've bought DH some running boxers as he wears normal ones and wears holes in them.

Nougat is popular.

Ive bought DH nice travel chess and backgammon sets here (cheaper prices available on amazon):

A jar of posh lemon curd went down well one year and als hazelnuts in Greek honey.

One year I got him some olives 'steeped in a 'chilli miasma' (Grin!!!?? ) some naice tea and a chocolate christmas decoration in the shape of an umbrella from Fortnums ( all a bit expensive and really a bit silly) but I was up there on a work trip and expenses and just happened to be walking by ..The problem with those though, was it was a bit difficult to top them the next year .

I also once bought him a new 'mobile phone'.. this was an old mobile phone box of my DS with a chocolate mobile phone carefully wrapped up in the original packaging.. That was so funny! ..he had at the time swore he never wanted one and was a bit Hmm when the wrapping paper came off .. .. You should have seem his face when he opened it up ! (of course everyone was in the joke previously)

he does have a mobile now , but its out of the ark!!

I've done running boxers too, and they were very successful.

Ex-chef so very particular about food, plus I do most day to day cooking. Likes outdoors. Notebook and wallet are possible gifts, and insoles and glass. Trying to think of something he may not have thought of (like the insoles!) as most things I think of seem a bit pedestrian/ impersonal.

Is he into coffee? DP is big time and last Xmas I got him these ceramic cup/mug things from Etsy which he really likes: etsy.me/2K7Za0G
They fit so well in your hand and are so nice to drink from (I promise I'm not the maker of these!). Anyway £16 a pop would fit in to your budget.

You could make a hamper of local deli type stuff? We have a honey maker, nest/cheese smoker, pasta lady etc in my area so would make a cool hamper of yummy goodies

Oh and one year I got DP a smythson embossed card wallet which he still uses now. Nice and slim and good for Oyster cards and what not

GimbleInTheWabe · 15/11/2018 20:11

Again if he likes coffee: a subscription to Caffeine magazine?
Crate of locally brewed beer? There's loads of awesome small breweries in S London.

Maybe wacky socks might be an option? They are made with a band that sits around the arch of your foot and are very comfortable for sports because the sock stays put. They are one of those things that you don’t know you needed until you try them.

Bluetooth headphones, i got a fab pair for £35 for DH’s last Christmas. Near the top of the Which recommendations.

If he is an example ex elf, what about fab olive oil, olives, that kind of thing

WellTidy · 15/11/2018 20:42

AN ex chef. Dear god.

lrh3891 · 15/11/2018 21:26

Now, an ex elf really would be tricky to buy for...

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 15/11/2018 21:44

I believe Liz Earle products are lovely and there is a men's range. I believe the products are good for sensitive skins - my friend's son has eczema and uses them but depends on your DH's skin I guess.
When you say likes outdoors, in what sense? If he likes walking, maybe a book about local walks and a new waterproof walking jacket?

tentative3 · 15/11/2018 22:05

Soft, smart lounge pants
Lip balm
Beard trimmer/styler thing
Belt

TheWiseWomansFear · 15/11/2018 22:30

A nice pen
A leather passport holder
Good socks
A nice shave balm?

I used to work with Executive Chefs and they told me they rarely cook at home and mostly eat cheese on toast.
