Our plan is Saturday 1st December.... but for some reason I feel SO festive now...I’ll hold out until 1st though as by NYE I’ll be ready to take it all down and start a new year will a fresh empty house!

Used to do it on 1st November on the same day we took Halloween decorations down. This year we have 7 month old DD and lots of uni deadlines so the Halloween decorations are still up with no time to take them down or even think about Christmas decorations till after last exam on the 12th.

8th/9th December. It would normally be a week later, but the following week we are having a get-together for family we won't see closer to Christmas, and I want things to be festive.

1st December. Then going into town to see the switch on there. Can't wait! Christmas makes me think of lights twinkling in the darkness so I love putting up the tree.

Topseyt · 14/11/2018 18:23

Christmas Eve if I can get away with that. Down on New Year's Day at the latest.

All my decorations are up already. Xmas Grin

After DS birthday here.

Planning for the weekend of 8th/9th. We bought a new tree from We Are Christmas so I'm keen to see it in all its decorated glory Xmas Grin

We put the little Advent Tree up on the 1st, and the DC have their Hampers on the 1st .

I would like to put it up on the 1st of December but we will be having a real tree this year, do you guys think a fresh cut tree will survive a month in a fairly warm house?

Year before last we got our tree on November 19th and it was real and freshly cut. It lasted until Jan 5th without loosing too many needles

MrsJonesAndMe · 14/11/2018 21:39

15th or 16th of December

Shufflebumnessie · 14/11/2018 21:45

It will either be Friday 30th November once DS is home from school or Saturday 1st December. I suspect that DS won't want to wait so it'll go up on the Friday. I'll then put the other decorations up around the house on 1st whilst DH puts up the outside lights.

AcrossthePond55 · 14/11/2018 21:46

Probably the 8th or 9th of December. But the house decs and outside lights will go up probably the first weekend of December.

Thanks everyone... going to try and hold out although may sneak a few things in like Christmas mugs and alike.

I don’t want our neighbours to think we’re crazy putting the tree up in mid November, although I’d like to... DH wouldn’t be too pleased!

Mid-month. 17th this year. We get a real tree delivered and I don't want it to be bald by Christmas. It's lovely but takes up a fuck of a lot of space in the living room, too.

EyUpOurKid · 14/11/2018 23:42

Usually the first week/end of December, this year however, whenever my new couches arrive, which might be Christmas week!! I'm going to get small one for in the kitchen counter I think though, to keep me going emotionally Grin

DramaAlpaca · 14/11/2018 23:46

Ours will go up on 21st December & not a day sooner.
