Spy kit

Dd(9) is very interested in playing spies particularly secret codes. I thought it would be nice to put together a spy kit for Christmas but there is so much out there. Anyone got any recommendations of what to include. So far I have uv pen invisible ink thing. Was thinking some kind of finger print thing- can you get stuff to dust for finger prints like the police do?? Maybe binoculars/night vision, walking talkies- I saw some watch ones on amazon that looked ok but not great reviews so any tried and tested recommendations welcome. Any more ideas I'm missing? Thanks

rear view spy glasses are fun

code wheel

finger print kit

periscope

I'd definitely go for walkie talkies. I'd also consider some clothes that are spy like - dark glasses, hat possibly, some sort of case for all the tools, some sort of badge or id number

I've done this. I used a metal briefcase.

I put in
a trilby
a moustache on elastic
A notebook with a pen attached
Fake passport
A bird whistle (to communicate with fellow spies)
Laminated morse code sheet
Magnifying glass
Pipe (this was her favourite item)
An OS map (to unfold and hide behind in dangerous situations)

Oh, one of those glasses and moustaches disguise combinations.

Great ideas, didn't think of disguises! She'll love that. Thanks for the links too. I think some kind of suitcase/briefcase to hold it all is a fab idea

My DD is 9 in a couple of weeks and has asked for a spy kit so this is perfect for me too. She’s been eyeing up the project mc2 spy kit but I think I might be better off following these suggestions. Perfect!

There is so much out there. Love the idea of dusting for finger prints. Love those backwards glasses things too

My dd was very into spy stuff a few years ago. She got the Project MC2 set for Christmas. I don't rate it really. She played with it a bit but I think she would have enjoyed a set of more grown up looking bits and pieces.

This book - had this as a child when I was obsessed with being a spy - best book ever - the reviews say it all!

Great suggestions all. I’m trying to avoid buying the MC2 kit as it looks expensive. Putting together a kit looks far better. Thanks everyone.
