Christmas books

I get my daughters a Christmas themed book every year.

Oldest is 11.5 this year and I'm a bit stuck. I am guessing I may go down the traditional Charles Dickens route but does anyone have any other ideas. Normal reading is stuff like Jacqueline Wilson, geek girl, girl online, Harry Potter. There is a geek girl Xmas themed book but I think she has that already....David Walliams I think she might be getting a bit old for.

They may be a little young (she would be right at the top of the reading age) but have you ever had any Matt Haig books? Think A boy called Christmas is the first in the series.

This book is nice, just out this year and about taking care of the planet:

@HotInWinter

Yes I saw those but I think she's a little old - she reads a lot so her reading level is a couple of years above her age as well.

They do look good though - I've just missed the boat although would probably get one for youngest year. I have bought her the Christmasaurus this year.

She may well have read these at a younger age, but just in case:

The Children of Green Knowe has the most magical christmas bits and setting. Ditto, there is a strong Christmas beginnning to Susan Cooper’s The Dark is Rising series.
www.amazon.co.uk/Children-Green-Knowe-Childrens-Classics/dp/0571202020/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&keywords=the+children+of+green+knowe&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1541318847&sr=1-3
Or

Thirteen days of Christmas and The Story of Holly and Ivy are both lovely Christmas books that are often overlooked these days - www.amazon.co.uk/Thirteen-Days-Christmas-Jenny-Overton/dp/0192735438/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=13+days+of+christmas&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1541318392&sr=8-1
And

Or, if she’s a strong reader and might enjoy “who dunnits”, that age is about when i got into Agatha Christie books: eg

@ParliamentOfRavens

Thank you for those suggestions. I think the Agatha Christie might be the way to go. Last year I got her a robin Stevens book which was a whodunit aimed at older children and she enjoyed it so I think that may work.
