Pre-lit tree

I'm currently looking at artificial trees on Christmastreeworld.co.uk after years of lusting after Balsam Hill ones. I've recently heard these are just as good and they seem a bit more reasonably priced.

I'm not sure whether it's worth paying extra for a pre lit one? I absolutely hate putting the lights on the tree but am concerned that if one of the lights on a pre lit one goes in then it's not only a waste of money but I'll still be left with the same hated job.

If you've had/have a pre lit tree was it worth it?

(And if you have a tree from christmastreeworld would you recommend it?)

TIA

I wouldn’t buy an artificial tree, lit or otherwise but one thing I would check is how many lights are on it. A lot of the ones I’ve seen on display seem to be very under lit. I work on about 100 lights per foot. But I do love a fairy light.....

Thanks @Tulipvase - good advice to check the light count; the one I'm looking at has 500 for a 6 foot tree so should be ok.

May I ask why you wouldn't buy an artificial tree? After a couple of years of real trees we're making the decision to go back to an artificial one for environmental reasons.

I just don’t like them to be honest. We always had real trees growing up and I’ve just carried on I suppose.

Good luck with your tree hunt!

Also, with regards to the potential light issue, I don’t think you get the problem of one dodgy bulb on LED lights.

I certainly recommend ChristmasTreeWorld. I have mentioned them on the other two current "Tree" threads and have just added a photo. I love real trees, but last year we've were going away for Christmas and New Year, also entertaining some Brazilian friends in early December so wanted to be festive for them, but did not want to come home in January to all the dropped needles.

We went for an unlit tree as I happen to like old fashioned coloured lights with our old decorations. It certainly saved the annual trip to choose a real one, husband holding one after another for me to choose and then the palaver of getting it home and planting in its holder, to say nothing of the £50.

Thanks @TrickyD, that's super useful and I'll have a hunt for the other tree threads too.
