Crackers that are a bit different.

I have looked at the crackers in my supermarket (Waitrose) and even though a box of 12 is £30, they are still rubbish. I do not want any more keyring or nail clippers, nor do I want a Santa board game. I do not want to make my own crackers either.

At the moment the front runner is Hotel Chocolate crackers. Yum

Anyone else found some great crackers that are good quality and different from the norm?

Yes usually fill my own now, with a chocolate and a Lego blind bag or similar. Realistic sprout truffles one year were hilarious. The racing Santa's/penguins/reindeer a few years ago were a total hoot too (it would appear I bought those more than once, usually in the January sales!). Endless races on the kitchen table.

There's lindt ones in certain supermarkets

I imagine people would use them x

MummaPI · 05/11/2018 18:01

I posted this a while back and I i still haven't found anything different!!
Swaying towards the hand bell ones at the moment...

PeggyIsInTheNarrative · 05/11/2018 18:46

Doing fill your own with a Lottery scratch card in.

Some years I have done small gifts but have regretted it when I have another list of things to think of and buy - mascara, torch key ring etc.

We have enjoyed moustache ones. Really funny at dinner after a glass of wine. I liked origami too. The balloon modelling had to be abandoned as one of the dogs lost the plot at the noise the balloons made Shock

Origami sounds fun...before alcohol!!

ritzbiscuits · 05/11/2018 19:43

@GlowWine Where were the sprout truffles from?

Angelkd · 05/11/2018 19:59

Amazon do teddy bear ones ,ive never had them but they do look cute x

Crackers that are a bit different.
GlowWine · 05/11/2018 20:57

@ritzbiscuits sorry I really can't remember, it's been a couple of years. They were just normal truffles then coated in a swirled pale green& white chocolate coating which visually worked well. Very similar to these

jellycat · 05/11/2018 20:59

I buy the fill your own ones - much nicer to have something decent and personalised in the crackers. It’s sometimes difficult finding something small enough though, and it’s more work obviously. M&S usually do kits.

Deminism · 05/11/2018 21:12

We loved te teddy ones last year

redexpat · 06/11/2018 05:08

Ive got musical ones by reed.

halcyondays · 06/11/2018 10:33

What if the gin bottles break when you pull the cracker? Shock

halcyondays · 06/11/2018 10:35

Those teddy ones are sweet.
Nutcracker crackers (with wooden nutcracker ornaments) from Amazon or Lakeland look good.

AllDriedOut · 06/11/2018 17:43

Buy cheap ones and add a small gift of your choice to the tat that's already inside.

Ideas- Lego man for kids
Matchbox TUPE car for kids
Miniature bottle of spirit for grown ups

Small piece of jewellery etc etc

megletthesecond · 06/11/2018 19:07

I've just remember I got the origami and magic crackers in TK Maxx.
