I want to get DS who is 2 a wooden toy kitchen. Maximum spend £80 but would prefer to spend less as prices differ so much from looking online.

Any ideas appreciated!

I think Aldi have th this week. You can get the Aldi offers online too.

SweepTheHalls · 28/10/2018 13:02

The kuea one is bullet proof and fab

RubberBabyBuggyBumpers · 28/10/2018 13:03

Aldi or IKEA both look nice, think Aldi is cheaper but you have to buy in store I think.

CoodleMoodle · 28/10/2018 13:03

We got ours from Asda a couple of years ago. It's so cute! I think it cost about £55. They don't sell that one anymore but they've got lots of different ones available. It was awful to put together, but it's really lovely.

BikeRunSki · 28/10/2018 13:04

Aldi,£30

Floweroct2 · 28/10/2018 13:04

We have this one - looks more expensive than it was - too k a while to put together though! direct.asda.com/george/toys-character/wooden-toys/wooden-deluxe-kitchen/050204357,default,pd.html

I’m always seeing these on Facebook Marketplace for about £25. My friend got her DD a 2nd hand one, it was immaculate.

CantSleepClownsWillEatMe · 28/10/2018 13:06

The Aldi ones were this week gone so you might struggle to get that but I believe Lidl will have their wooden toys from 01/11 including house. While we never bought the house from either, any of the wooden toys we did get were really good.

The Asda one is recommended on here a lot and I know BIL and SIL got one a couple of years back and were very impressed.

You definitely should be able to get one at less than £80.

mama1dc · 28/10/2018 13:07

Ikea! It's not to wide and my DD plays with it EVERY DAY!! You can also diy it which we did also

bigfishlittlefishtupperwarebox · 28/10/2018 13:08

We have the Aldi one, we got it for DD last Christmas. My friend bought the IKEA one for their DD. They are both brilliant and keep them occupied for ages. The ikea one is a bit bigger, and given the chance to start again I would go for that if you have the space. Better for storing all the plastic food that I get fed on a daily basis...

CantSleepClownsWillEatMe · 28/10/2018 13:10

Oops I don't know why I read that as House and not kitchen! Advice applies though I suppose as if those places are selling them you could be confident the quality is as good as the other items.

RainbowsArePretty · 28/10/2018 18:53

Thanks everyone! Will check these out

Asda, Ikea or Aldi, then Argos for the play food.

BarryTheKestrel · 28/10/2018 18:59

I have the old ASDA one. I purchased it second hand from a friend and finally looking ratty after 5 years (3 from their child, 2 from DD), so it's being replaced this Christmas with the new ASDA kitchen as it's played with daily.

DuploRelatedInjury · 28/10/2018 19:06

The IKEA one. It comes with brackets to fix to the wall if you want to, and adjustable height legs for longevity. They've got sets of pans and plates and utensils too!

All the DCs love it, from DD2 (1yo) right up to DN (7yo)

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 28/10/2018 19:09

Studio had one for about £60 I think. I couldn't say about the quality because we don't have one but I noticed it in the catalogue Smile

RiverTam · 28/10/2018 19:11

I had the Ikea one which was a good price which I’m pleased about as in the end DD hardly played with it.

Shireslass · 28/10/2018 19:14

Just bought our 18month old one from Asda. £32 instead of £39. Was recommended by a friend. Free to click and collect. Package not heavy.

SleepySofa · 28/10/2018 20:20

The ikea one - we got that for DS, and it’s really solid. Friends who bought Asda or Aldi ones have found them a bit shoddy.

We bought this one 3/4 years ago and it is in almost perfect condition if you don't count food stains. It is very good quality and usually goes down more on good Friday.

PrincessTwilightStoleMyToddler · 28/10/2018 20:50

Ikea or Aldi. We went for Aldi - it’s fab and so cheap leaving plenty of money in your budget for pots and pans (the Ikea ones are brilliant), crockery/glassware (again, Ikea are great for that) and play food (the Melissa and Doug food groups set is excellent).

stridesy · 28/10/2018 22:01

We brought ours £60 from asda but I wanted a pink wooden one with washing machine and microwave which was reduced from £80. They do other colours and styles...blue and yellow I think. The Aldi one also looks very reasonable.

CeCeLaine66 · 01/11/2018 21:22

Saw the Aldi one today and if dd was in the the age bracket of toy kitchens would have bought it there and then.

Somehow Don't think 15 year old dd would thank me for it though!Hmm
