Posh Crackers

Any recommendations for "nice" crackers for grown ups? Have just looked on Fortnum & Mason website - think it was £575 for 12 gold leaf crackers, which contained a crown, a scroll (joke?) and a gift such as a honey pourer. Was thinking of something a bit more mainstream!

I hope there are lots of suggestions I'd love posh but not crazy expensive crackers

You could always make your own? I've been tempted before to buy the crackers you fill yourself but never got round to it

I fear making my own would be a disaster! I am not tempted.

Will probably go to M&S or Waitrose, but wondered if people had other - nicer - suggestions.

We don't do really posh crackers but have had huge success with magic trick and origami crackers.
This year I've gone for xylophone note crackers from John Lewis. We'll probably sound like an infant school assembly Grin.

Hotel Chocolate

You could always buy some decent sized crackers and just add a gift by carefully undoing the end.

That way you could match the gift to the recipient.

love the look of hotel chocolat

We usually get ours from Waitrose, the bigger ones, they are fine, not over the top. Even if they are very nice the gifts are pretty naff. so I reckon it will be hotel chocolat for us this Christmas!

Saw these today, perfect size for hand cream or molton brown mini, posh chocs, mini candle, jewellery

As above, I by the biggest Crackers I can find, undo one end and add extra gifts plus a scratch card. I've put in miniatures, keyrings, penknife, earrings allsorts it's really fun

Tbh no matter how much you spend it goes in the bin so I’ve gone the other end if they look nice match my table then I buy whatever is the cheapest and then you can pull more too!!

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 26/10/2018 21:46

I was about to point you to some delicious savoury biscuits but realised you meant the other crackers. John Lewis have some lovely looking ones this year:

I sort of agree with the PP though re the contents. I’d love to make my own and would put gin miniatures in them. But it’s probably a good thing to go cheap!

You can fill your own crackers with "posh" stuff. I've filled crackers with e.g. Molton brown and l'Occitane hand soaps, personalised key rings from NOTHS, bookmarks, mini hip flasks.

Or:-

Fortnum & mason ( £45 - 550)
Harrods ( £13 - 110)
Selfridges ( £10 - 70)
Jo Malone ( £32 each, but include things for 6 people)

National Gallery have some nice ones occasionally. Also Waitrose.

The best fun ones we've had in the past are the musical hand bells & RSPB bird songs.

I still have some silver ear studs I git from a Waitrose cracker about 15 years ago.
