Decided this year I would jump on the Christmas Eve box bandwagon. Had it fairly planned out. I plan to put in for DS10 & DD6
A pair of xmassy pjs
A lush bath bomb each
A Christmas colouring book for DD / not sure for DS yet as he’s not in to that.
A pack of chocolate coins each
A roblox blind box for DS and a L.O.L lil sister doll for DD
A packet of hot chocolate powder for DS and either a milk straw or milkshake for Dd (she don’t like hot chocolate)

I’ve chosen not to put a movie in as I literally own all the Christmas movies already.

These are the mugs: www.notanotherbunchofflowers.com/products/personalised-christmas-mugs-various-designs and the socks: www.notanotherbunchofflowers.com/products/totes-unisex-kids-chunky-socks

Can anyone recommend somewhere that does good quality adult and kid's matching Christmas PJs?

bluechameleon · 28/10/2018 22:55

We are doing one for the first time. I have bought new pyjamas/sleepsuit for each DS (not Christmassy ones) and I was thinking of doing a DVD, an activity of some sort (baking or craft), popcorn kernels, hot chocolate and marshmallows and our existing Night Before Christmas book. Maybe a mug? But I don't want to spend too much.

NanooCov · 28/10/2018 23:46

My two are only 1 and 4 and they are getting:

New PJs
A kinder snowman each
A Christmas tree decoration each (dinosaurs - they're fab)
A couple of blind bag toys for 4 year old and a crocodile hand puppet for 1 year old
A kaleidoscope each

I'm not bothering with a movie as we do downloads / streaming.

Next do some lovely matching family Pjs. Smile

We prefer Christmas Eve to Christmas Day here so we do go all out with a Christmas Eve box (very unmumsnetty). We not only do things for the kids but things for me and DH too, as we need a little treat considering we’ll only be getting an hours sleep on Christmas Eve!. We’ve also moved house this year and I’ll be 7 months pregnant by Christmas so we want to make it extra special for DC.

Family
We will have one of them marshmallow roasting kits. I brought one not long ago but have decided to save it for Christmas Eve. We also got a Christmas Eve kit that has a little note to Santa and a key etc. Reindeer food and a personalised mug each. We’ve also got a personalised Christmas book for the DC and one of those hot chcoolate sticks. Another tradition is hanging the stockings up on Christmas Eve so some new stockings will be in the box

We’ve got all DC a letter from Santa, matching pyjamas, slipper and dressing gown. A Santa bathbomb and then a cuddly toy each.

really like this idea

I think we might give our boxes on the winter solstice - will be a lovely way to celebrate the shortest day of the year

thinking
PJ's
hot chocolate sachets
cosy socks
nice book
puzzle book
new family game maybe

Elflocks · 29/10/2018 21:38

Contemplating doing one of these for my nearly 5 year old. I would never have thought I would think that, but they are so excited about Christmas this year. I just want to embrace it completely.

They didn't have the same level of excitement last year. I don't think they fully grasped it. Smile

PeggyIsInTheNarrative · 29/10/2018 21:44

bamboo that’s a nice idea.

We have had a candlelit supper on the winter solstice. Nothing fancy, just usual tea with candles and tree/fairy lights.

It’s a good time to go out and gather some greenery to turn into wreaths or swags.

It’s funny how many Christmas traditions are based on Yule celebrations.

AdoraBell · 29/10/2018 22:11

Pyjamas
Warm socks
Christmas mug this year, not always
Hot chocolate

We watch a film and relax together.
