Thanks for suggestions.

I was looking at toy kitchens but they seem to all say 3 years plus so wasn't sure whether to get it.

Also the same for dolls that come with accessories!

Ds will be 18 months at Christmas, he's getting a kitchen, cars, a doll and buggy and puzzles.

WakeUpSlow · 20/10/2018 22:15

Something to push toys/ dollies around in. My 18mo uses their scooter for this and was obsessed with a play wheelbarrow at a friend's the other day.

We've got DD (16 months at Christmas) this play kitchen. It's a toddler one so smaller in size and does less but it's only £25 at the moment. Has a little toaster and hob and oven and the blender makes noises.

We've also got her the happyland farm set, some wooden musical instruments and a giant piano mat. So lots of lovely noisy toys! She's also got a pushchair and aquadoodle from grandparents. The happyland stuff looks really good, I'm really happy with the farm and it's all on offer at the early leaning centre at the moment.

Duplo - lots of bricks - my kids played with this for years and years.

LiquoricePickle · 20/10/2018 23:39

Mine will be 19 months and he's getting a wobbel board, a light table, kitchen and duplo (not all from me, I hasten to add.)

redexpat · 20/10/2018 23:45

Aqua doodle
Finger paints

TheABC · 20/10/2018 23:51

A cardboard box filled with balloons. Seriously. DS loved that at 18 months.

Jellyjumpers · 21/10/2018 00:00

Baby stella is a doll and accessories suitable from 1

MrsLem · 21/10/2018 00:16

My son 18months is getting kitchen, duplo and musical instruments. I bought the kitchen, pans and utensils from Ikea and will be buying the food and stocking fillers from Aldi on Thursday . Also got loads of Christmas books for December from the book people 10 for £10 offer and a Christmas wooden train from ELC

ChristmasSeacow · 21/10/2018 00:19

My DD is 15m, will be 18m at Christmas, and she already plays with her older sibling’s kitchen. Nothing sophisticated like chopping Grin but she likes to stir pans. I don’t think 18m is too early to show an interest, especially if they see you cooking and may want to copy.

Other toys of her brother’s that she enjoys are the magnetic things (smartMax, magnatiles, tegu) and the toy cars. Also the pushalong things, as others have said, including a toy buggy. And stacking cups, Cuddly toys, including hand /finger puppets. She’s also taking an interest in colours and crayons just now and she loves her brother’s bubble gun (pull the trigger, good stream of bubbles. A lot easier than blowing them yourself for hours!)

That’s all stuff we have already because she’s the second child. For Christmas she is getting some extra bits for her kitchen (Wooden dippy eggs, a toaster!) and a plastic ninky nonk (complete tat but she will be thrilled 🙄). We’re also getting the Plan Toys wooden counters and cups for her to sort and play with. But mainly she likes being read to, so probably a LOT of books. We already have hundreds but I need the variety more than she does!

The thing with the 3+ age recommendation is about small they become loose the children can choke on them.

But, in reality we always had Dd play under supervision or together with us anyway and took away anything too small. I had more fear a out getting a wooden strawberry thrown at me than her eating it.

We had several things from Dantoy

It was so robust, it ended going to a friend’s DD several years later.

Aldi toy sale has started online this morning

GreenTurtle1 · 23/10/2018 22:43

@Ceecee18 I'm so pleased you posted. On Facebook this morning someone was selling 2 huge plastic boxes of happy land stuff for £25!
Snapped it up immediately as was out of stock when I looked on ELC.
