Gift ideas for a couple

So I am totally stumped for a gift here and hoped someone can impart some wisdom.

I have a couple to buy for (SIL and BIL) early 40s, she doesn't drink, he does, they don't really have any hobbies as such (she's a vicar, he doesn't work) and they don't really do much together

We have a budget of £100 in total and I have already spent £30 of this for an afternoon tea voucher somewhere that has the most amazing reviews.

I had thought of a theatre voucher too, but he doesn't really like going to the theatre because he is too tall to be comfortable in the seats.

Can anyone help me? Everyone else is a doddle!

I think this is going to be a popular/ maybe not so original example but what about a hamper? Nice food and drinks they both like? With some candles and wine / nice non alcoholic alternative? It’s a pretty good budget though,

Sorry sent before I had finished! It’s a pretty good budget so you could get one put together by a farm shop or John Lewis for example

imsorryiasked · 19/10/2018 18:37

Subscription? not necessarily a magazine but one of the food ones?

AliceRR · 19/10/2018 18:38

Some other experience gift but not user what. Was going to say a meal out until you said you had got a voucher for afternoon tea

A spa day?

Maybe get them a voucher for a meal they could use on a different day?

Something techy like one of those Alexa things or something for the house

🤔

Fortnum and Mason have hampers £60-£85

Something for the garden, such as bird bath, bird table, hedgehog house and appropriate food to go with it.

Bottle of perfume and aftershave.

Cook books.

A really gorgeous blanket/throw. This is what I want for Christmas, it’s such a luxury purchase and I would never justify the money on a blanket for myself.

Like this one:

I think the something for the garden and throw ideas are good ideas OP

National Trust/English Heritage/Historic Houses membership?

MsSquiz · 19/10/2018 19:50

Some lovely ideas, thank you. We have done a festive hamper before with fancy cordials and nice treats - but it is something we could redo with new ideas.

I love the cosy throw idea, that's definitely something I would love too!

It doesn't help that they are well off, so anything they want, they buy themselves.

If tgry can afford all the material things they want, then nice perishables is s great idea. I’d love £100 worth of well thought out nice food.

Ottermum23 · 19/10/2018 20:50

A good quality blanket.

Bluearsedfly36 · 19/10/2018 21:12

Gift card?? That's usually my fall back plan for MIL who has everything.

startingafresh1 · 19/10/2018 22:21

Maybe separate presents but with a theme- so a lovely book each for example.
